Pretty sick. Not as monotone sounding like all of his 4 bar Friday's. I dig it.

...Dear Mods, for better clickbait, feel free to change thread title to "Dame's first official rap song"

I liked it! The piano was original. I want to hear something a little more uptempo next.

If I'm a big time artist Im hittin Dame up for at least a feature, one because he's good and two, cuz it's all about that name recognition. Production was alright but not solid... he'd sound even better workin with a top notch studio.

How bout Lill' Dame as a stage name? Spin it off of his full name

I don't get it. I can appreciate that he's good at it, but I just don't get it.

#BoringWhiteGuyProblems

I guess DOLLA stands for Different On Levels the Lord Allows.. which I think is pretty tight. I knew "Dolla" was too ordinary and unimaginable for Dame.

Insert comment that makes me sound old and white here.
I AM old and white. And I don't know if he's got hip hop (or rap....or whatever) talent. I just hope he keeps his focus on what allows him to play music mogul. And that is basketball. He can rap all he wants after we win a ring or two.....

Does the above cement my old white guy credentials........??

I bet Dame spends plane flights writin'. He probably has a notebook and just picked a verse to rap over a beat, which probably took less then 30 minutes to record. I'm not worried about him losing focus on the court because of music.
And as a young white balla' that works out to hip hop on the court, I can honestly say he has talent.
He'll be an even better rapper when he learns to change speeds with his flow, just like he'll be better when he can change speeds on the floor

Clint Dempsey has a rap album. Don't think it helped his game though.

Dempsey plays soccer. Nor exactly rap material right there. Dames expressing his roots by doing what makes him Dame. Incomparable.

And I'll get you Dame's debut album with a fake gold chain and some cheap shades so you can swagout to it.

I'm not sure what percentages my opinion would work out to...

75/25 old/white???? Probably more like 60/40.

Nah. I have pretty much got Kendrick Lamar and Vince Staples' new albums on permanent replay on my IPod.

I like a Blueseum type groove behind poetry but never could latch onto the hip hop drum machine me, me and more me stuff.

My feeling about music is pretty much what Freddie Mercury said when someone asked him how he could mix heavy metal with gay disco vamps on the same album. "Oh. It's all good dear!" ; )

Not too bad for a first song. Nice voice.

It's a good thing he has basketball to fall back on... until he can write some hits anyway. :smiley-dj:

I hope he does a dual album with Mumford and Sons. I'd buy you a copy.

Correction: That's "Mumford and SUCKS!"

I know what you're getting at, Riverman... you're just not listening to the 'right' type of hip-hip! Good hip-hop can be REALLY hard to find these days, but it IS out there!

Nice! He did some on a radio show I think Sirius that was real good.

It's not a bad song but it is not really good enough to be worth discussing if he was not a professional basketball player. At least he is better than shaq.

I think that's about where I come down as well.
