Watching Lillard last night, he just looks like a superstar. He has the swagger, he has the talent, and the team is humming right now. His attitude on the court is just so calming. You can tell the team settles down when he is out there. When a team starts to make a run, he just hits a couple threes and kills the run. I don't know if I've ever seen a player like this on our team. Maybe Roy.

Right now he's averaging:

20.9 ppg, 6.8 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1 steal. (all career highs)

He's shooting:

47.6% from the field, 47.6% from three, 94.5% from the stripe. (all career highs)

His advanced stats are:

24.5 PER, 65% true shooting, 32.6 assist percentage

He's better than Roy. I hope he plays his whole career in Portland.

And remember, he was in a slump the first three games. So his numbers are even better the last 9 games.

Even when he got shoved by Mike D Jr, he was calm... He looked like he was going to calmly take Mike behind the woodshed, but he was totally calm.

Some more to add

2nd in offensive win share
2nd in total win share
1st in Offensive Box +/-
12th in Offensive rating
9th in true shooting %

His shooting stats are really interesting too.

It's still really early in the season obviously, but here's a comparison between Roy and Lillard in their third seasons:

Dame: 20.9 ppg, 6.8 assists, 5.2 rebounds, 24.5 PER, 47.6% FG, 47.6% from three.

Roy: 22.6 ppg, 5.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 24 PER, 48% FG, 37.7% from three.

They're almost identical in a lot of areas. Three point shooting is really the only place where Lillard is much better. We are so lucky to have Dame after losing Roy. I was pretty bummed about losing Brandon so early in his career, but Lillard might actually be better.

His trade value is insanely high right now.

I think he's worth 3 Mike Conleys.

There will always be a special place in my heart for Roy. It's awesome that Dame respects Roy too.

Stephen Curry is really his best comparison

The two will battle it out for the next 5-10 years on 3pt makes. They both shoot a ton of 3's.

They're similar in that they're both shooters, but they have different styles. Curry is probably a better passer at this point, but I would take Lillard over Curry if the game was on the line.

Roy was one of the best that could drive to the hoop and finish, whereas Dame is a clutch 4th quarter 3-pt shootin' assassin!

Lillard's career trajectory seems to be following Roy's. It's quite eerie, actually:
• 4-year college player.
• Picked 6th overall in the draft.
• Came via draft pick that was traded to us.
• Won Rookie of the Year
• Made All-Star team in his second year.
• Motherfucking clutch!

It's almost as if Damian is the reincarnation of Brandon. Before his knees gave out on him, I thought Roy was starting to ascend to superstar level. Now I think Lillard has a chance to get there if he keeps making gradual improvements to his game.

His play since the first 3 games has been unreal, was it just rust and a slight injury those first 3 games?

In terms of the NBA, Dame is a superstar. They're promoting him like a superstar. Dame already has a few national ad campaigns (NBALive, Adidas, etc).

Brandon never got the kind of exposure that Dame has already.

He's basically a pint sized Rocket's offense. Except he plays within the confines of a better offensive scheme.

And he doesn't like to touch young girls or grow a nasty beard.

It is absolutely amazing how instantaneously we bounced back from the career deaths of Brandon Roy and Greg Oden. Most teams would spend 10 years in the cellar if that happened to them. But we traded Gerald Wallace for a pick and the rest is history.

But Lillard got out of th first round. And in his first try! Roy never did that and he had three chances though he did have injury issues against Phoenix and Dallas.

Huh? What happened? Houston has a pedophile playing for them now?

Dwight Howard playing with high school girls.

Lillard is the shit. Its like lamarcus said. Lamarcus will break all the records and shortly thereafter have them l broken.

Right now, Damian Lillard is the best PG in the league. Shooting 48% from 3pt range, that is insane!!!
