As I was posting earlier, for much of the game when they were in at the same time, Dame wasn’t bringing the ball up the court. They had Giannis and Middleton doing that. Dame would just go sit on the three point line. They barely ran pick and rolls.

Dame did most of his damage when Gianni’s was off the floor.

Is that such a bad thing though?
Imagine having someone like Dame to take over when resting the mvp.
Or imagine having an mvp to give Dame some rest while are both on the floor?

i get the pock and roll aspect but if what they do works, does it matter?

Im all for Dame getting a ring there however they play him. As long as they win it doesn't deserve scrutiny HOW they win.

How long will Dame's teammates stay engaged without touching the ball on offense? Tonight he made most of his shots. That's not going to happen every night...I'd think Lopez and Middleton would start getting bored with the lack of ball movement Dame ball brings
He actually didn’t make most of his shots. Was a off night for him from the field.

It almost didn’t work. They won by 1 point. I think the team is much more formidable with Dame running the show. Bucks fans agree. They’re not happy that GA brings the ball up and jacks up a shot. I saw a lot of posts saying that after the game in their forum.

Saw the following on an article regarding the good/bad of having Dame:

https://deadspin.com/dame-lillard-milwaukee-bucks-giannis-antetokounmpo-1850967095

Excerpts below:

Sure, the new Buck dropped 39 in a win, but Milwaukee allowed 58 points to Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre

Lillard is the best there is at what he does, but what he does isn’t very nice. I’m certain this is only the start of a parade of highlights from him this season (that will make me sob uncontrollably). And I’m equally positive that the Bucks need to upgrade that two-guard spot right now or else they’re going to hemorrhage points to opposing backcourts. Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre combined for 58 points on 19 of 33 from the field.

Malik Beasley and Pat Connaughton aren’t getting any taller. A slight guard next to Lillard was a big reason Portland perennially sucked on defense as constant dribble drives ensure layups, open threes or foul trouble for bigs. Brook Lopez and Antetokounmpo each had four fouls, and only the latter blocked any shots. Maxey also went to the line 10 times.

Milwaukee is more dangerous with Lillard because he’s a fourth-quarter offense unto himself and is an insurance policy against bad possessions. That said, the danger goes both ways, and is exacerbated when you have a bunch of minions accompanying him in the backcourt.

It's amazing how much the west coast is literally not seen because of the time of game starts.
Yeah I mean a 7 or 730 start is 10 or 1030 on the east coast. A lot of people are already asleep by then. Meanwhile, a 430 start on the west coast is absurdly early and I never got to watch many teams in the east.

Man, enough Dame. I love you as a player, but get off of this martyr kick about Cronin taking it personal and refusing to trade you to the Heat, but you’re being a pro and not holding a grudge. Sheesh, he traded you to a team with a better chance of winning a title than the Heat would with you on their roster. You had no trouble with throwing Blazer fans under the bus by pushing a trade that would have added years to the rebuild. Cronin’s career as a GM would have been toast had he accepted that shitty deal and been forever marked as a patsy. Chauncey and your former teammates would have had a years longer path to relevancy, but you could have enjoyed South Beach. Cry me a river.

At what point do Milwaukee fans start to take issue with Dame constantly lamenting about not going to Miami? I'd be starting to get pissed if I were them.

Good question.

I think the main reason Dame wanted to go to the Heat was that he still wanted to be the man. Butler wouldn’t have had any problems deferring to Dame as leader, but in Milwaukee he’s always going to be seen as Robin to Giannis’s Batman.

What about when they aren’t playing the T-Wolves?

Anyone see Dame’s line so far tonight? 3 points on 1-10 shooting and 6 TOs through 3 qtrs. While everyone else was creaming themselves on the first game Dame had for the Bucks and how he won them the game, I was saying to myself why did the Bucks almost lose at home against the 76ers? Could it play out that the Bucks were better with Holiday verses with Dame?

It’s early and who knows what will happen. But the Bucks are down 21 at home through 3 qtrs against an 0-2 Atlanta team.

I just turned that game off. Dame had a bad night yes but he certainly wasn’t the only one who played poorly. The Bucks had a bad game. Simple as that from what I watched.

I am calling it again. It's only a matter of time before Stotts replace Griffin.

Even on Dame's spectacular debut, I was not impressed because he did it like Portland Dame. Dame-Giannis need to play like Stockton-Malone for better team success.

Bucks have not looked good yet. I don’t think the coach was a good hire.

I still use this website to check stats, and he invented a stat a long time ago (pre-PER!) called "Tendex" that is a crude measure of productivity (like PER) that can be applied both to individual players and teams. Check out the current rankings - specifically who's at the top and who's at the bottom. Looks like we fucked over Dame twice.

(Notice also that every team we've played so far is in the positive. Perhaps because they played us!)

The Heat being towards the bottom with us is hilarious.

...or are these the early signs of exposing Dame's shortcomings :dunno: where do you think the Heat would be on this list if he went there?

I think Milwaukee isn’t using him right.

I think Dame would have gotten to play like Dame in Miami and I think that was a big reason why he wanted to go there.

100%

He knew he'd be given the green light. Although it's early (and both teams are underperforming and have plenty of time to turn it around), I think the Bucks situation has the potential to not be as good as they hope.

Don't think the Miami situation had any guarantees either.

Miamis depth is showing. Their roster is garbage overall. Jovic can’t even crack the rotation. Jaquez isn’t as plug and play as they hoped.
