Rumors on twitter cite creative differences between Stotts and HC Griffin.

Im sure that is it. I'm actually surprised that hasn't happened with whats his face who is the assistant coach with the Blazers and was OKC's former coach.

Unless I've Mandela Effected the hell out of him being an assistant coach.

Very strange news indeed considering this Dame interview was just days ago:

When the Pelicans swept us in the playoffs Stotts expected to be job hunting that offseason and mentioned he'd like to coach where he played in France again one day. He liked living there and speaks French. When you are Terry's age where you live is probably pretty high up the ladder importance in life. I know he loved Portland.

Weird. Wtf? Wants HC job? Retire?

what are the odds he ACs for CB?

My bottom line is I am happy we don't have that huge and potentially albatross contract on the books the next 4 years

The Blazers team as currently constructed might actually benefit from a Stotts-run offense, letting Billups focus on relying on Scotty Brooks for defense.

with Stotts quitting, reporters in Milwaukee are scrambling to Coach Lillard.
"what do we do? ahhhhh... help us Dame."

Stotts: “okay everyone gather round. Here is our plays for this season.”

Griffin: “Terry on every page it just says “Dame time.”

Stotts: “yeah… how do you think I was able to stay in Portland for 9 years? I don’t even draw anything up. I just give the ball to Dame.”

Griffin: “what about on defense?”

Stotts: “what is defense?”

Honestly, will anyone rank the Dame Years among the great periods of Blazer history? I mean it's not even top 4 for me. The last decade has pretty much dragged.
I'd put the 0.9 season and WCF run in the discussion. I was in grade school for Clyde's finals so couldn't appreciate them. 1999 and 2000 were the best two years for me, but I'd say those two years of Dame were next.

0.9 was so amazing after 15 or whatever years of not winning a playoff series. Plus the thought of endless possibilities in the future with a player delivering that in his second NBA season.

Yeah some of y'all that are older than a half century might not rank Dames years in your top 4, but the majority of Blazer fans weren't alive for that.

Wish Dame the best, but he's far from the first elite athlete to be a big delusional about father time.
The problem is that last season he felt better than he did the previous three, so who are we to tell him when his body is going to start to decline? With that, how do we know that when he slows down a little it will have a huge effect on how good he is?

CP3 is a shell of himself at 38 and was better at his peak than Lillard.

There hasn't been any PG in NBA history that was still elite at 38. Could Lillard be the first?

That sounds delusional.

Chris Paul has been injured a bunch of times. Lillard has not but yeah 38 is pushing it for sure.

No more delusional than thinking we could build around him by trading the assets we had for a superstar…
