Dame named as Top 75 Player

No Vince, no Tracy, not sure Dame has achieved as much as these so far - but I certainly expect him to pass them both by the end of his career. I suspect this is really a marketing exercise by the league and they need some current players that are not that far from the end of their career, so with that in mind, Dame certainly makes sense. Congrats.

Not really surprised.

Love that klay is crying that he's off. He's barely a top 100 player.

Wow! Over Bernard King, Alex English, Vince Carter and T-Mac! Not to mention Pau or Tony Parker?

Alex English, Bernard King, Pau Gasol and Tony Parker are pretty hard sells for top-75, IMO. I could see Carter and McGrady being in the conversation with Lillard.

Did they take the original top-50 and add 25 more players, or did they do the list from scratch, anyone know?

Not sure, but I know King and English were on the Top 50 I swear.

I'll give you Pau and Parker not being top 75.....but BRO! King and English? C'Mon.

I think the world of King, but his prime was way too short. If he had a full career at his best, sure.

English was a great scorer, but there have been a ton of those. Why English and not Adrian Dantley? IMO, both were tremendous for their era, but not legendary. King was legendary, but injuries reduced his career.

Chris Bosh is another name to throw out there.

I think a case could be made for Bosh, TMac, VC over someone like Pierce.

i really dont care for the guy on the court, but no one can deny his triple double feats aNd that alone is damn near enough i would think.

Totally disagree. Guys like Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, and Ginobili won multiple titles playing team basketball on both ends. Westbrook got empty stats and playoff losses. He should be behind those guys.

Hell I think I would put him behind Irving and I can't stand Irving.

They started the list from scratch, but all of the original Top 50 end up making it anyways.

Actually looks like everyone on the top 50 list (in 1996) is on the 76 list. Apparently there was a tie for 75 thus the list is 76 players.

Bob McAdoo made the top 76 but not the top 50.

So there are 26 new guys

Bob McAdoo (played 1976-1986)
Ray Allen
Kobe
Duncan
Garnett
Iverson
Kidd
Reggie Miller
Nash
Dirk
Gary Payton (1990-2007)
Pierce
Rodman (1986-00)
Wade
Dominique Wilkins (1982-1999)

Active players;

Giannis
Melo
Steph
Anthony Davis
Durant
Harden
LeBron
Kawhi
Dame
CP3
Westbrook

As much as he is disliked, I believe Dwight Howard is the biggest snub. He is the only player that made 8 All-NBA teams that didn’t make the Top 75. Comparatively, AD made this list, but Dwight’s career has been way better than AD.

I'm good with no Dwight Howard. I think he was dominant defensively for about half a decade but overrated offensively. IMO, his prime lined up between the end of one great big man era and the start of another (the "unicorn" big man era), so his All-NBA selections, while merited, were somewhat the result of not a ton of elite competition.

Dame over Vince Carter??? Give me a break. Whoever thinks that does not know basketball, nor the legend of Vincanity.
