Dame Time (for a trade)…

If you were GM, what would you do:

  • Trade Dame, start the rebuild around Simons, Sharpe, and #3 Pick (Scoot or Miller)

    Votes: 17 54.8%
  • Trade Simons, #3 Pick, possibly Sharpe to build around 33 year old Dame

    Votes: 14 45.2%

  • Total voters

I am going to put this here cause it does tie in with Dame maybe asking out but I was thinking who could Dame MAYBE accept being a rookie without asking out so the percentage is that he would ask out :

Scoot -- 80% -- Kind of simple they play same position and not a fit together
Miller -- 50% -- I am not sure Dame is sold on Miller so I think Miller would have to really impress Dame kind of the same thing Sharpe had to go through
Amen -- 45% -- I think Amen is a wild card cause he has skills that could be used like defense and such IF that can translate day one if not then not sure

I still believe even IF the 3rd pick is kept Dame will not ask out right away he will wait and see IF anything else could be done but again we have to rely on Cronin and again that does not inspire confidence at all.

I would have to think it is Durant to the Suns level or perhaps even higher.

The problem is that it's like building a car that's so expensive that only a handful of people can afford it.

We have to find a team that:
  • Dame wants to go to
  • Has the assets that we want
There's no chance in hell that we're sending Dame to a team he doesn't want to go to. No chance in hell. We're not taking that PR hit. So how many teams are good enough that Dame would want to go there, but also have the young players and picks that we would want to make the trade?

Dame would then have a choice. #1 go to a team he doesn't want to go to, or #2 wait until we find the right return for him on a team for which he does want to play.

I think he retires a Blazer. Of course, that's nothing but a guess.

I have a feeling that if we do take Scoot, Dame will be gone by training camp.

I don't think the team will want the continued bad press of a unhappy Dame. I think the team will want to turn the page. I would go hard at Brooklyn and try to get a bunch of their picks.

I don't think anything gets all of my crazy out but the meltdown that I had on multiple threads yesterday definitely calmed me down about the draft. There are a lot of ways today can go and now I'm just enjoying the ride.

it only took you 24 hours to recover?

shit when i melted down earlier this week i had to take three days away from here to get my sanity back. This place was driving me nuts. Lol.

I either read it a few days back or they mentioned it on the radio, but….

i want to make it clear, im not for trading Dame, but if we did, how about to charlotte for the #2?

Scoot/Sharpe/Miller would be a hell of a start to a rebuild. Trade ant/nurk and 23 for Allen
Scoot
Sharpe
Miller
Grant
Allen

is not a bad core to start over with at all. Three starters on rookie deals would leave massive flexibility for the future, no?

Yes, that is a problem for the pro-trade Dame theory. Not just because Dame would not want to go to teams without a "puncher's chance" but also because those teams would not even want him and his salary. We need a young stud in return. We don't need a bunch of them but we do need one plus the picks. An SGA-type player (before he blossomed)

And that's the thing.... who fits that bill?

Here are the teams who potentially have the talent to be a contender while also having a young player that we might want:

Toronto - Scottie Barnes
Magic - Wagner
Pelicans - Daniels/Herb/Murphy
Thunder - Chet

I don't think any of those teams would be on Dame's list. So that leaves teams like Miami, Boston, Brooklyn, Knicks, Sixers, maaaaaaybe the Raptors.

I would really be trying to convince the Raptors to do a deal, if Dame would do it.

Of those teams, Brooklyn has a lot of assets. They don't have a young stud though. Sixers have Maxie but I don't really like that. Knicks have some young guys but I'm not convinced they're really a good team. My dream team is Oklahoma. They have the picks. They have a ton of young players. I just don't think it will happen..... but I can dream.

I don't think Grant re-signs here if we don't have Dame. I wouldn't want to re-sign him either.

By the way if Ant or Nurk and 23 gets us Jarrett Allen we need to get that done right now.

We absolutely have to find a way to sign-and-trade him if Dame is out.
I think we would and he would want us to because the money he wants isn't really out there on teams where he would want to go.

  • The Cavaliers are receiving trade inquiries and offers for center Jarrett Allen, but have rebuffed those overtures, according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, who reports that the Mavericks are among the teams that have reached out to Cleveland about Allen. As Fedor notes (via Twitter), the Cavs are scouring the trade market for a two-way wing and don’t have a ton of assets to offer for one without including a core player like Allen, but they don’t appear inclined to go that route at this point."

If you think that is garbage that is prolly the best offer that can be had they only get worse from there so IF your on the Trade Dame train and you do not like that here is a dose of reality you need

Hell in the trade package I came up with I did not even include Clax cause I figured they would want to keep him for a championship run with Dame

Its 4pm. Without diving into my memory im pretty sure this os going to be the longest hour of my life. I better log off for a bit before i melt down again. Lol. No news just makes time last linger and frustrations increase! :)

If this leads to Dame being traded be prepared for an epic meltdown at that point -- I have been around awhile starting on O-Live and I have chilled a lot since those days but IF Dame wants out -- find a fallout shelter cause you will need it -- I am being dead serious too.
