Shaquille O'Neal Says Damian Lillard Should Leave The Blazers And Join Forces With Another Star: "I Don’t Really Like Guys Teaming Up, But This Is The Way It Is…”.

What Shaq is saying, out loud, is: The era of "The Ring Chasers" is upon the NBA. Get over it... then go join them.

People did the tide pod challenge, too. Thankfully that didn't have to be the way it was.

id like to think he stays past this season, but this really means nothing

im not saying hes gonna leave following this season, but i didnt know what was in his head lately, was he just putting pressure on the front office or if he was really thinking about leaving

Blazers posted a pic of voluntary workouts at the PF.

Dame was there (in Weber State gear) so he must be back from his honeymoon. Is that Roco next to him in the mask?

Also in attendance from what I could see:

- Nurk
- Powell
- Simons
- Little
- Snell
- Nance
- McLemore
- Watford
- Elleby

No sign of Brown, but he was there almost every day last week.

Melo on Dame drama :

The conversation with Dame was never about him leaving. Dame is Portland. That's his town, city, and organization. He's never talked about leaving. He wants to win and do it here in Portland, but if it's not gonna work-- it won't work. That's the battle he deals with. He wants to win and be in Portland -- Portland is his, so it's more so the outside noise than anything else. Everyone from outside is putting things in his head about where he should go and they're putting him in different uniforms. The guy is still under contract and never asked for a trade. I spoke to him and I wanted him to look at my situation when I was in Denver, where there were some similarities in the market size, but the organization was going in a different situation and I had to ask out. I'm not saying Portland is doing the same thing Denver was. But a lot of things have to happen to get Dame out-- it's not that easy. Fans from outside want to see him somewhere else, but then they would then ridicule him for getting out. Dame is good, man. I know he came out and said Portland is his, and Dame won't feed into the noise.

CJ is one of the top ten shooting guards in the league, you better get someone of better value if you trade him. Im talking about a 3, 4/5.

the NBA has changed. I'm thinking that PG and C are the only 2 positions where there is still some solid boundaries, and that may not even be true of C's any more, for the most part

it seems that SG's, SF's, and stretch-4's all morph together into wings

I was curious if CJ was really a top-10 SG so I used last season's points/game at ESPN as a template:

so sure, in the narrow definition of SG, CJ is top-10 although he's arguably in the 8-10 range

but then, add in SF's:

it's starting to get real crowded.

and the optimum value is in 2-way players who can slide between SG, SF, and PF seamlessly. That's not CJ. Now CJ can slide to PG although there's a solid argument he's not as good a PG as most of those players above are as a SG.

I know they kind of blend as wings.

And that metric is only looking at 1 end of the court....

I have never been a Melo fan but his time on the Blazers has changed that.
