My wife is a WFT fan from her days as a kid growing up in that area. I read her the list of the supposed final 8 names they were choosing from and she was not excited. Here is the list ESPN game as the final 8 choices. Armada, Presidents, Brigade, Red Hogs, Commanders, RedWolves, Defenders and Football Team. The article said the Redwolves is not it, they said their are trademarks from other teams preventing that one. Personally not a fan of any of them, but I hope they go with the football team, just so I can keep calling them the WTF's.

I’d favor something more apropos to DC like the “Washington Gridlock”.

When the Washington football team announced the were going to release their new name, they had a little snafu. If you went to a website for Washingtonadmirals.com it took you to their team site. This has since been changed, but sounds like a good chance they will be the Washington Admirals. Of course that name is already taken by a quidditch team in DC.

I saw somewhere someone suggested that the team be named the Washington Senior Officials Not Authorized to Speak Publicly
