Deep 3s Are Taking Over The League.......

I notice it watching my little nephew in his hoop games. All these kids come down and just LAUNCH 3s. Man if we had done that as kids, we would have got yanked. His coaches don't say a word.

If I was coaching and one of those young dudes jacked up a long 3, I'd yank his ass. I'd set up that 4 point line at the next practice and say that when he can score a 60 or less, he's cleared to shoot that shot, but until then he can expect to get pulled every time he launches one.

My grandson (10) can set up well as a point guard but the rest of his team is clueless except for the big dorf kid who thinks he should shoot threes rather than rebound and put up points. They have not won a game yet. The coach sucks. I have to hold myself back when I see how they have been coached. I coached my son's team, in the last century where, they knew how to rebound, shoot free throws and do basic give and go plays.

Doncic is launching 6.2 deep 3s per game. Young is shooting 6.3. Those are the shocking/surprising numbers to me.
If that's true , about 31 percent of all of Doncic's shots are deep 3s, and 66 percent of his 3s are deep 3s.

Of course when playing the Blazers they aren't as necessary. Just go to the right corner to hit a "layup" 3 pointer.

Porzingis hit a few really long threes last night. I didn’t know he had that range.

2-3 years from now players will be shooting from the other end of the court.

This will become a normal shot.
