That probably wasn't the right way to handle things

What was that uncomfortable hug attempt at the end? I think someone misses Congressman Massa.

You can atleast understand he's mad the kid knows his name, but doesn't have the decency to introduce himself. Doesn't justify his reaction though.

While the Congressman is without excuse for his behavior, the "students" should have identified themselves better and should not have led with such a stupid question. It was clear this was some sort of set up to embarrass him. I can understand why he might be upset.

More likely than not.... which makes the Congressman that much more of an ignoramus.

Yes, this is true. But when the leading question is one that cannot be defended by the Congressman, they are apt to get irritable.

If it were republicans in the majority, the majority of these things would be about republicans.

Go figure.

You get what you vote for.

Sounds more like you are making the point that you get the same thing no matter who you vote for.

Ya think?

Out with the old culture of corruption, and in with the new.

Was that Congressman drunk? It seemed like he was slurring his words a bit.

That's why people are voting for the tea party. At least it would be a new mistake rather than the same old one.

Which reminds me- since people are so unhappy with dems and the GOP these days, why isn't the libertarian party getting the vote out?

I don't blame him a bit for his reaction. Some kid sticks a camera in your face and asks him a question like that, then refused to identify himself? "We're just here for a project, Sir..."

If that's assault, I'll play the lead in La Cage aux Folles.

They wouldn't win. There would be enough social conservatives to vote for the Republican over the Libertarian, where the Democrats would retain practically all of their voters. It would be just another game of "throwing away votes causing the other party to win." The only chance a third party will ever have to break through is to change the voting system to something that will break that argument, like Instant Runoff Voting. But why would the two parties, who have such a stranglehold on the system, ever do that?

I agree. How does he know if the guy has a knife or not? And he kept saying "I'm a student".

Well, WHERE are you a student?

Sounds like the "student" was a plant by a conservative website.

This is called ambush journalism. It's happened before. Republican operatives stuck a camera inches from his face, refused to identify themselves repeatedly like responsible journalists always do, and asked a very vague question--Do you fully support the Obama agenda? Obviously, no one supports anyone on 100% of every issue, so the answer would have to take at least a couple of minutes. The question was framed as a setup to exasperate him.

I wish the Congressman would have punched the punk's teeth down his throat. You notice the cowards don't pull this stuff on regular people, because we don't have to get elected. We'd give them a nice, short answer that they'd remember.

The perpetrators posted the video anonymously, clipped it so that their faces can't be seen, and have not come forward like the innocent students that the operatives pretend to be.

There are plenty of cowards on both sides of the aisle. Don't pretend this is something that "Republican operatives" just came up with. This crap has been going on for decades.

What makes you even try and intimate that there is some justification only to say it doesn't justify it? I understand that the congressman is a moron and would be swallowing his teeth if he did that to me while being RECORDED ON VIDEO.

Are you fucking kidding? Being facetious?

You people are insane. Yeah, grab a guy by the wrist with a gay dance move next time you suspect someone has a knife and see what happens.

Jesus Christ, is it April fool's day today? I had no idea who that freak was and if it hadn't said Dem Congressman in the title I wouldn't have thought anything different about this video. I don't think most of you in this thread can say the same.

You would have went to prison and rightly so.

You're probably right. Which is why I commend the Congressman for keeping some semblance of control over his temper.

And this is entirely beside the fact that I think that most, if not all, Congressmen probably deserve to be be in prison for something.

The last sentence is the smartest thing I have read in this thread.

He can't help himself. He's a brainwashed liberal sheep and has no mind of his own left.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ WOW

I need to go have myself checked out by a psychiatrist.

I really can't figure out what the rest of the people on here are watching, I might be delusional. What I see is some dork who looks to be about 5'8" tall wearing a suit and asking a congressman a simple question on camera. Then I see the congressman go crazy and assault the dork. Weird how most of the other posters in this thread think the congressman should have beaten the dork in the suit half to death. I must be losing it.
