There's really only been one sour spot on his resume, and thats the way he left Toronto. He was ridiculous in his prime. I'd say he's pretty much a lock

WAS ridiculous in his prime? Hate to break it to ya buddy, but as a guy who watched him/taped highlights all through his Toronto days, I can confidenly say this prime is going on right now. So is Kobe, so is Tmac, so is Pierce etc. He was more athletic for sure back then, but he didnt have the experience, the playmaking, the passing, the understanding of the game he has now. He has put all the pieces of his game that he learned in TO to use now.

I think he left TO just why Kobe is leaving LA and why TMac demanded to be traded too. And do not bring up that 'interview' where he admitted he didnt always try. Did you see the follow up interview with Ahmad Rashad? Where they talked about how John Thomson called Vince after it aired and apologized? It was severely edited to make Vince look like he said that in response to "did you always try" or whatever. Vince said "the power of editing" when looking back at it. He also later said that he would "never disrespect the game like that" and that anyone who knows him knows that he would never say that.

I watched every single game in his final years in TO and people in the organization were saying "he is a true leader for this team" and "gives it all every night" but TO fans needed a reason to hate him...just like they booed Damon....just like they booed TMac.... Of course I am biased because I am a VC fan for life but hey, thats just what I think. I do not expect to sway anyone's opinion on Vince. If you hate him, you hate him.

But for what he did after MJ left, being the ambassador of the league, all the promotions while maintaining his dignity, wanting to win, leading the USA to 2 gold medals including being the MVP of the 2000 team (Kidd later said "Vince won that for us"), brining basketball to Toronto, becoming the leagues greatest dunker of all time after 3 years, all his charity work off the court, his embassy of hope, and for not Trashing TO at all after he left, being a class on and off the court...I could go on...I think he deserves to be in the hall of fame.

Oh and, he is the reason I watched basketball in the first place.

Peace
