Its not really the school's reaction that bugs me, but the media's classifying this as racist / hate speech etc. They also allowed the walk out to take place which is enabling.

Shouldn't they be holding American flags? I mean, come on...
Edit: Oh I see more pictures now.... and wtf they stomping on a car?
Students at the high school and several others actually exercised their 1st amendment rights.
More power to 'em.

No.So you have an issue with free speech?
No.
But stomping / climbing on cars, yes.
The flag thing is ironic, they pride their own country yet refuse to live there. That's all I meant by that.
They should rep the place that gives them their rights, ya? But sure rep the Mexican flag, I dont care. I think its funny though.
Wait. I have guns to make you afraid or because im afraid?First off I'd be afraid because schools get shot up.
That sign was to make people afraid not express a political view. How come the muthafucka that hung it didn't stand there with it? Because he/she was too chicken shit to peaceably assemble to redress the government for their grievances? The Latinos at the school don't make law.
The sign was put up to make people afraid. And that's the reason why people have guns.
Even more irony is mexico is very discriminating towards Guatemalans. They built a fence to keep them from coming over the boarder and taking jobs. But unlike the us where most people arent racist they just want people to be legal, mexicans legit hate Guatemalans. The irony is that the Mexicans who actually control Mexico see these people as trash.
Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council member Steven Almazan expresses his concerns about the area's future to the Guardian. "Gentrification in Los Angeles has occurred clockwise," he says, "progressing from Silver Lake to Echo Park to Eagle Rock to Highland Park to Lincoln Heights and now Boyle Heights. As a neighborhood, we have seen how quickly communities in Los Angeles can change." Activist Xochitl Palomera was more blunt: "Gentrification is a violent threat," she says. "When we feel it we may react in an angry way, through fear."

It's real simple, if i have to pay taxes, id like everyone who enjoys the freedoms and infrastructure of this country to pay taxes too. I could give a fuck where you are from as long as you are paying your part. This is the thing that obviously these idiots are missing..... I swear I've never seen so much hoopla about just having people follow the fucking rules.
I agree. And i think there should be a minimum tax people have to pay on federal individual returns. So they at least pay $50 or something like that. So they can feel invested. Too many people pay $0 in federal tax. They do pay social security, but they get a benefit from that later in life (not all, but most)It's real simple, if i have to pay taxes, id like everyone who enjoys the freedoms and infrastructure of this country to pay taxes too. oh they hate Guatemalans and El Salvadoreans
Tbh with you, i feel afraid of being around most bernie supporters. Because of all the filth ive heard them sling at anyone who has an inkling of being for trump. Even if said person doesnt even like trump they just arent willing to commit to not voting for him in the ge. When someone tells another to "kill themselves because pieces of shit like you need to die before america is great again" an example of the types of things ive been seeing on facebook commebts, is more of a threat to me than "build a wall"
My facebook feed is full of people i went to high school with saying that shit.
I dont care who people vote for. What i do care about is having an open forum to discuss issues without someone jumping out and calling you a racist, or bigot or piece of shit that should kill themselves. Ignorance is no excuse, but someone can be ignorant without being racist or a bigot.
The world would be a shit place if everyone was the same. Respect others opinions.

If you get all that from "make america great again" i think you need to stop personalizing everything and grow a pair.I can't disagree with any of that. It's just an overreaction. "Build a wall" and "Make America great again" may not be outright racist, but they are certainly taken that way by people on both sides of the spectrum. Racists want a wall because they hate Mexicans and think they are ruining the country. "Make America great again" is seen by many people, on both sides, to mean "America was better when minorities, including gays and trans-people, were treated worse". Trump is undoubtedly the candidate that racists like the most in a very long time, but that doesn't make every Trump supporter racist.
The irony is that the Mexicans who actually control Mexico see these people as trash.
Wait. I have guns to make you afraid or because im afraid?
So everyone who buys a gun is purchasing for protection and out of fear? That seems like a lot of assuming and dare i say, stereotyping. So do we (not me but our country does).
When people, those who have enemies or not, say they purchase a firearm for protection, it's because their afraid something might happen to them. Fear of the unknown.
