How ridiculous he sounds when he uses any variation of the word scrap, scrapped, scrappy, etc?

"He did exactly what we needed," Portland coach Nate McMillan said. "He scrapped defensively. I thought he let the offense come to him. It was good to see him knock down some shots and get to the basket."

I'm just wondering if he's aware of the inside joke...

that he's contributing to the delinquency of minors who chug a beer every time he says, scrap, scrappy or scrapped?

Probably not.

Well, I just think it's funny because I roll my eyes every time I read a quote from him with that word, or hear an interview in which he uses it.

Or scrappiness. In the pregame interview with Mike Barrett he said it 3 times. It was a 30 second interview.

I don't know about his use variations of the word, "scrap", but I really enjoyed what Nate had to say tonight. Nate's always extremely accurate with his comments and analyses. That I completely disagree with his philosophy for winning basketball in the NBA is beside the point. I can't argue against his ability to read and analyze what goes on during games.

The only problem I had with Nate tonight was when he put Marks into the game. He let him stay in for one trip on each side of the floor before taking him out as he realized it was an obvious mistake. We know he's looking forward to Joel's return next Friday against the Hornets, but it's obvious he's going to be deeply concerned with Camby, LaMarcus and Cunningham getting into foul trouble against Denver and Utah, as even without Boozer, they still have too many bigs. He'll have to try Marks again against Utah, even if it's for just a few minutes.

I didn't even read the entire question, but the answer is NO to any question that starts with "Does Nate know"

Nate scrapped his way through those post-game comments. I admire that.

Maybe he just watched a little too much Scooby and Scrappy Doo when he was a kid.

Everybody has verbal crutches that they rely on. Unfortunately, the more you hear someone speak, the more you notice their verbal tendencies.

It's the day that players roll their eyes when he talks that we should be worried about.

I am assuming MB will report this any day.

When Brandon has a last second shot against OKC that was supposed to go to Batum in the corner, but instead Brandon held the ball and jacked up a bad shot. That tells me he isn't getting through to his players.

I think MB is genetically incapable of saying anything bad about the team so I am guessing he will never report such a thing.

I am waiting for Barrett to say something bad about the team, and then start gyrating as electrical shocks shoot through his system for disobeying the master!

That was my point, sorta. Basically how would anyone other than people associated with the team know such things
