Didn't we get swept by a much less talented (at least thats what everyone said) NOLA team with home court?

We were the 3 seed and Nola was the 6.

Doesn't matter though, it's about winning this series and it's gonna be a challenge.

Waiting a fucking week is brutal.
Not for our team. They actually get some rest and some practice time together. The unrelenting schedule this season has been what was really brutal.

No. Not in my opinion. That team had a healthy AD, Jrue, and Rondo.

They had kicked our butt's when they were healthy.

They were very good. They would have been a 2 or 3 seed if healthy all season.

When his contract expires Neil will re sign him. It really doesn't matter what we all want although it is fun to witness. Getting serious about canning the Blazers coach is a small priority especially since we captured a playoff berth. After all, our desires are filled with conjecture and stand without punitive measure.. We don't own stock or belong to a corporate board. How Neil feels about Terry is the bottom line stat.

It was interesting going into that series because that's the match-up everyone wanted if I recall.

Isn't this what people are saying right now about the current match-up? Seems like some have some pretty unrealistic expectations.

I wanted the Clippers. Either be the best by beating the best, or face reality

didn't want a feel-good series win against a depleted team that creates a false impression. That happened in 2016 and the result was the disastrous 2016 off-season that is still dogging the Blazers

Yeah, you could be right. I just didn't see how we could be favored unless everyone thought AD was going to get injured again.

If he did I think we would have won. But I was not at all confident Portland would win.

That said, we were definitely ranked higher, so that's the big one we "should” have won. The other being the Grizzlies. And Aldridge was checked out by then, so ...

Quick basically says he needs to beat Denver and maybe even make it to the wcf to get the heat off of him from this reddit guy that saw his q and a.

"a loss to denver is gonna result in a terry losing his job and possibly a restructured lineup with 4-5 new players. he also said a wcf appearance could get the heat off stotts and mccollum."

Sure, I guess if we can get to the WCF. That's going to be a big ask.

I'm pretty sure McGowan is the bottom line and it could be both Neil and Terry headed out. I doubt that this team's ownership group is OK with us being noncompetitive and with a fan base that sees them as disengaged but maybe that's wishful thinking. Maybe Shams doesn't know what he's talking about in regards to Stotts either.

From A Fentress
Question: What is the right amount of time for an NBA coach to be in charge before it goes stale:

“If someone wants to say, ‘He’s been here nine years. That’s a long time. Maybe it’s time for a different voice.’ To me, if that’s what is being said, it has to come from Lillard. Do you make that move without Lillard’s blessing? If Lillard wants Stotts to stay does he leave?”

Shit, I hope the team doesn't give a shit what Dame says. The team should figure out the moves they want to make, let Dame know as they're making them and then after they build an organization around Dame they can ask him "Do you want to stay because we built this for you?"

agree...I've always felt Org's should be able manage their business as they see fit. And, Ive never like that some super stars are given to much of a voice in operations, but I understand it with multi media now days and the Marketing that goes into the NBA. Its all about the money which is fine with me. I dont have a problem with the income disparity that professional sports represents and many other fanatics dont as well, we feed the machine. NBA is FANtastic and worth every dime.
