Dwight Jaynes suggests players may be tuning out Nate

I think its strange that we have a number 2 draft pick power forward, who has elevated his game this year, and a three time NBA all star and former rookie of the year, and THEY have to change their game to suit a journeyman point guard who is on his 15th* team. (*I know this is an exaggeration)

I dont hate Andre Miller and think he has played pretty well this year, but when he was bought in, it should have been "Andre, this is Portland, Brandon ROy is our go to star franchise player, this is how we play through him" not "Andre, were ready to change to suit you". I think Nate is a great coach, maybe not championship material but he is still learning. If they not playing for him then it needs to be sorted NOW!!!

And is Roy doesnt take at leadt 20 shots against Detroit tomorrow night, then something is DRASTICALLY wrong.

like maybe his back. Or knees. Or mindset. Or ego.

I think it's too early to fire Nate, but if the team shows any signs of tuning him out, there's no reason to keep him around. Should have kept Monty.

I really thought he was the Adelman to Nate's Schuler. C'est la vie.

Yeah, I've been saying for a while that Nate was a great coach to get us out of the lottery and back into the playoffs, but he's not the guy to take us any further than that.

I have obviously never been a fan of Nate, and thought it was a bad hire from the start. That being said I didn't think he was the worst choice to deal with the knuckleheads we had at the time. At the time we had Miles, Patterson ,Randolph and Telfair. Once those guys were gone though, we needed a better X's and O's coach

Nate simply got outcoached on a level where there's no debate!!!!! He can't match wits with the elite coaches and it's glaring. I for one don't think Mr. Sonic should EVER EVER have been our coach, non the less he's in over his head and Phil and crew showed just how much. He's not stoic, he's lost people!!!

As for Mr. 8 point Roy...... If you can't get up for the World Champions when the hell can you!!!!! Want to sleep do it vs the freakin Bobcats, not Kobe!! BTW isn't Roy under 25 years old? How tired can you be two weeks into the season! If he's hurt bench him I'm sure Mathews would bring the energy Roy is lacking...

BTW-The Lakers made more than a statement, they are now firmly in our heads as a team that can beat us with ease!

It's not like we didn't have ROY, LA, Miller, Camby, Mathews and Batum out there. Come on people!!! Fire the coach, half the people on this board can draw up better plays than this clown! As a coach NATE has more losses than wins, in my book that says he's not even 50%. How would any of us keep a job that way and be paid millions to do so? GEEZZZ! Hey Paul take off your sonic Tshirt and act like a businessman.... this isn't working...

Quick recap, the Bulls spanked us, OKC out hussled and outcoached us to the very final play in OT where we were leading by 13 only to have Nate draw up another prayer shot for B Roy, and we all know how bad the Laker beating was... Sooooo what has changed this year from last?

This is the year we are to be competing with the elite, do any of you think we could beat the Lakers, Jazz, Mavs or Spurs? We need to make a change now or it will be the exact same as last year. Oden coming back isn't going to be the magic pill. We still need a well run offense and a coach who can draw up plays, neither of those do we have. The last three losses should clearly prove that.

Now I know many of you will say.... who else is out there? My thought is have an assistant coach take over because the energy on this team is stale... Hell! Make Terry Porter coach with Buck as his assistant and bring back rip city for real.

The way I look at it, does it really matter if we beat the Pistons tonight, knowing the Jazz and Lakers have our # so easily? We wont see the Pistons, Wizards or Kings in the playoffs... The playoff teams in the west are the ones we need to make statements with...
