Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

Look at the thread title. Mediocre has a point there.

As for baiting, I wish people would expand and use more words to describe what they don't like instead of one word, "baiting," or something we all do when posting, "trying to provoke a response."

I think what they mean is consistently writing critical posts that are too brief to say anything of substance. Mediocre doesn't do that. Readers get bored with the repetition and get bored with the person writing them. They make up excuses to get rid of him.

I write a lot of criticism, but hopefully I stay entertaining and nonrepetitious, so as to not bore readers. That's the whole key to not earning too many enemies.

IDK. the OP's thread title really does allow for some serious trolling.... jus' sayin.

Edit: Ya beat me while I was writing the above.

Always amazing when this stuff goes unpunished. Seems like a personal attack out of no where, but oh well?

oh boo hoo. Bitch and whine constantly and then throw out the victim card. You want us to throw a pity parade?

not addressing any of my counters to your laughable front office nonsense speaks for itself

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

I remember just recently the talk was the Blazers won't be able to sign anyone because PA's hardline stance during the lockout.

After the lockout the Blazers sign Crawford for less money than another team offered and signed Kurt Thomas who was pursued by other teams Probably the same people who thought Blazers coudn't sign anyone are the same people who thinks management is a joke.

[QUOTEThe problem in getting them remains the Blazers track record — they fired two good and well respected GMs in Kevin Pritchard and Rich Cho within 10 month of each other. In both cases reportedly because they didn’t mesh well enough with owner Paul Allen, not because of how well they did their jobs. Then a four month search that led nowhere. This looks from the outside like a team in front office disarray.][/QUOTE]

First thing that came up when I googled http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....blazers-to-restart-gm-search-from-square-one/

If you don't think tey are a laughing stock for firing Pritchard on draft night, and letting him draft for us anyway. Firing Cho because he and Paul weren't besties, Then not being able to find any GM that is willing to take this job in time for the season to start, then let's agree to disagree

Allen fired Cho because Cho wanted to blow it up

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

I know the management has an impact on the product, but ultimately I cheer for the team on the court, not the team in the front office. And, right now, the team on the court looks pretty good. The team in the font office did a good job filling the holes left by Brandon Roy and Greg Oden. Are the players we got "better"? No, but they will contribute more on the court this season than Roy and Oden did last season. We have a deeper bench this year than last and a roster full of unselfish team players. Crawford, Thomas and Smith were all bargains on inexpensive short term contracts.

So, to anyone bitching about the front office, how about you start watching the team on the court and commenting on their play? I don't see how you can like the product on the floor and hate the front office at the same time.

I don't think so, but if nothing the Blazers will be competitive this season.

Again, personal attack that will go unscathed.

Again, nobody cares.

And, if you consider that a personal attack, you're being WAY too sensitive.

Fuck, people call me a boob here every day and you don't see me crying to the mods.

Mocking. Violates rules 2, 4, 5, 7, I believe.

Do you just like to cry in public, or are you actually "offended" by these harsh attacks on your character? If the latter, try using the "Report Post" function and stop whining in public.

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

After 3+ years there's just one thing I don't get about this place. I'd say roughly 80% of you share the same opinion roughly 80% of the time but when anybody deviates from those opinions or makes statements that the hive-mind doesn't agree with (particularly opinions that are negative towards the team or management) it turns into a dog pile. Are people really that threatened by what MM and others (me?) have to say? A spirited debate is welcome, but for some reason all I ever hear is a lot of calls of, "troll!" and "baiting!" and the meat of what MM has to say is almost never directly addressed.

It's funny, I can't seem to recall MM ever calling anybody else out by name ... I'm not saying it's never happened, but ...

Personally I think he enjoys pushing buttons and knows when he complains about personal attacks, it tends to draw response out of posters.

He does it to get posters worked up, IMO. (I mean a guy using the term Chuckford and Ass Clown over and over gets offended by some of this stuff . . . no way)

Do you really think McMillan and Crawford needs champions when somebody on a message board calls them a name?

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

MM prefers Crawchuck to Chuckford. Just saying.

I don't mind negative, or contrary opinions at all. Hell, I criticize Nate, too when I think he deserves it. It's the constant playing of the victim card that I won't tolerate. It's just so fucking childish. Grow the fuck up. This is the big boy forum.

You don't, and I don't either. Hell, I had a poster literally calling my house and threatening my family here, and I still get mocked for it. The owner of this site called me out for it, and still refuses to perma-ban the psycho who did it, although the psycho's own signature askes for a peram-ban.

It kind of goes with the territory here, and any of us could leave if we wanted to leave. I do understand the frustration with banning MIXUM and others, though, when that sort of psycho is still allowed access to this board.

My point is a poster who is so willing to throw out callous names and flat out say nasty things about people can not be insulted with some of these so called personal attacks (ie Is he playing the boy who cried wolf again? Awwww)

Do you think that response bothered MM so much taht he cites rules against it in hopes of getting MZ to back off? These personal attacks don't bother MM, he just likes to complain about them to get a response from posters. Seems pretty transparent to me.

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

In all honesty, who the fuck cares what anyone says. It is an internet forum, and not one person's opinion of me in here matters. I don't mean any disrespect by that comment, but no one should care what anyone says. No one should be banned (unless they are calling and threatening people...wow papa)

What truly does bother me is that I seem to get called names and attacked for having a different opinion. Just disagree and move on.

I get called more names than anyone in this forum and it causes me to cry myself to sleep.

Not at all. Assumed and unsure can't be personal.

Besides, it's ok to violate rules. For certain people anyway.

I was warned and threatened with suspension when I called someone a lemming. I then sent the mod that warned me a follow up post by the individual I called a lemming, where he called me a fucking loser and a piece of shit. I was told, by the mod, to stop whining. So because of that, you all get to hear me bitch and moan about it. As always, please put me on ignore if I am in any way ruining anyone's forum experience
