Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

Not at all. Assumed and unsure can't be personal.

Besides, it's ok to violate rules. For certain people anyway.

I was warned and threatened with suspension when I called someone a lemming. I then sent the mod that warned me a follow up post by the individual I called a lemming, where he called me a fucking loser and a piece of shit. I was told, by the mod, to stop whining. So because of that, you all get to hear me bitch and moan about it. As always, please put me on ignore if I am in any way ruining anyone's forum experience

If that's true (I have no reason to doubt that it is), then that's shameful modship. IMO, that particular mod should be suspended.

Sorry to hear that. Everyone mods a little different. Me, I tend not to take the shit so seriously. (it's why I change people's insults so they are insulting me and not the people they intended it to.)

Again, if someone's post is upsetting you please feel free to PM me. I don't always have time to read every thread here so I miss some stuff.

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

What truly does bother me is that I seem to get called names and attacked for having a different opinion.

It's because you call the blazers coach ass-clown!!! Which is no different than calling yourself ass-clown. Others are merely rephrasing what you call yourself.

The problem in getting them remains the Blazers track record — they fired two good and well respected GMs in Kevin Pritchard and Rich Cho within 10 month of each other. In both cases reportedly because they didn’t mesh well enough with owner Paul Allen, not because of how well they did their jobs. Then a four month search that led nowhere. This looks from the outside like a team in front office disarray.]

First thing that came up when I googled http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....blazers-to-restart-gm-search-from-square-one/

fify

they were the laughingstock of ESPN the night they drafted Aldridge and Roy... so what? Here in the SF Bay Area I still hear the local media team refer to the team as the Jailblazers a few times a year and you want it to be taken seriously what some people you know/heard in Houston think about the team? Seriously? Go read the comments section following most any sports story on ESPN's site and behold the raw vitriol. A percentage of fans love to hate and spew venom towards their rivals. Articles pro and con on most every media storyline are cranked out every day that feed fans whatever it is they want to hear. That these fans and the opinion articles written for their Pavlovian outrage exist doesn't make their views reality.

For a true joke franchise/management go look up how my local team has done the past 17 years since I first moved south. Reading a Blazer fan bitch about their lot while having observed the local dreck is

I don't want to bum you out but Portland is 2-0 and looking good

STOMP

Portland looks good so far for sure. Doesn't change the view of their front office though

Basically, he's saying people call you names because you come up with names to call the coach and some players. Merely a back-handed insult to you, that is all it is.

IMO everyone needs to stop attacking the posters and focus on the posts. This place turns into a huge pile of shit when the mods allow posters to attack each other in even the slightest of ways..

And yet this thread is the 4th most viewed thread on the front page.

Posters (and Denny) love drama . . .

I don't allow it. Sometimes I just miss shit.

I know SPD; I just think that some of the mods tend to let stuff go. Stick to basketball people ;)

BrianFromWashington and I are pretty much the only mods here. Because of past incidents I have let mods from other forums on S2 know that they are welcome to post here but they need to leave the Blazer forum alone.

I get insulted and personally attacked in almost every thread I post in. That should help you not "miss shit"

I wish there were no rules for it in the first place. If it truly bothers someone, they should leave. Just be a myopic lemming and everything will be ok. I think that is a solid idea for a new forum slogan

Christ on a cordog, let it go already. If you have a problem with the mods, take it up with the mods via PM. If you have a problem with forum policy, take it up with Denny via PM.

This wallowing in self-pity victim act was tedious from the get go. You're not going to convert anyone to your "cause" by constantly whining about it. You act like Mixum and ILOVEODEN are martyrs. They're not. Get over it. The forum is a better place without them.

BNM

P.S. That's not a personal attack, just some advice. The quality of your posting has fallen off a cliff since you took up this "crusade".

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

The forum is not a better place without them. All it is is more narrow minded thinking. It's more vanilla.

It's a FAR better place for me. I don't have to wade through hundreds of posts of trolling and baiting other posters to find some real discussion - both positive anbd negative. I had them on ignore, but others were constantly taking their bait and responding by quoting them. So, I still had to manually filter a lot of their trolling.

And yes, there is a difference between posting a negative opinion and trolling/baiting. If you cannot comprehend this difference, perhaps that is the root of your complaint.

This is Portland. If you let it ferment with some rotting vegetables and grass clippings it becomes compost.

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

Meanwhile, in the Was Jesus A Real Person thread, those who wish for this forum to be 'more open-minded' and 'less vanilla' are bringing up the President Obama birth-certificate spiel again.

Oh, the irony is delicious.

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

Or at least moved to the OT forum????

BNM

Thats totally fine IMO. Just clear the main forum for basketball stuff, and leave the trolling threads to the black hole of shit that is OT board here.

Re: So, Dwight Jaynes Instantly Has Become Mediocre Man's Best Friend....

I'm rubber and you're glue.

I was teasing. Forgot the wink thing.

I haven't read most of the threads, so I can't say with authority that you "deserve" it. Though, when you think about it, "deserve's got nothing to do with it."

bumped b/c I don't feel like deleting 80 posts, and the topic was interesting.

Interesting article...

ABM defends Nate.....a LOT....in here. That said, as Jaynes points out, it will be an interesting season. And, if the Blazers get a high-end GM, that may very well become McMillan's death knell.

We shall see....we shall see....

http://www.csnnw.com/pages/landingdw...74&feedID=8351
............As far as the Trail Blazers are concerned, I can't get a good handle on how good they'll be. Or not be. There was not enough of an exhibition season to get a solid feel for them, I'm afraid. But so far, I don't have a lot of optimism about this team.

To me, it's as if there's something missing. And I don't mean Brandon Roy. I just don't feel there's enough scoring. Enough good shooting. Outside shooting has been a question mark for this team now for about a decade and seemingly nothing gets done about it.

(And while I think the addition of Jamal Crawford was a good one, for people thinking he's a big-time shooter, well, forget about it. He's 41 percent for his career, which doesn't bode well considering he's not going to get a lot of wide-open shots out of this offense.)

And running an offense that's mostly pick-and-roll with shooters spotted up around the perimeter and no consistent low-post threats is the same prescription for mediocrity that this team has followed throughout most of Nate McMillan's tenure. And with so many new players, it's hard to imagine this group finding its identity in a rapid manner.

The big thing about this year, though, is that it's very likely a big transition season. With so many contracts expiring, it's probable that a lot of changes will be made in the upcoming offseason. And there's the feeling, too, that if this group under this coach doesn't get past the first round in the playoffs this time around big changes will be made.

I'm not predicting a major tear-down, because the makings of a good team are here in LaMarcus Aldridge and Nic Batum. But progress needs to be seen this season with this group for it to remain a viable part of the future.

I believe McMillan is probably more at risk after this season than ever before. Yes, he's constantly had to fight through injuries while coaching the Trail Blazers, but don't forget that even with those injuries, he's still had a decent roster capable of winning most of the time.

This season he's trying to pull off a massive change in the way his team plays, going from one of the slowest-paced teams in basketball to an uptempo club. So far, the results have been mixed.

I don't believe this is necessarily the way McMillan is most comfortable coaching. I'm not sure it will stick. And I'm not sure his team will be effective with it.

But I know this, the Blazer management team is going to make a run at an established general manager when this season ends. In most cases, if they bring in a big name or a guy making a lot of money, he's likely going to get to name his own coach, too. It's just the way it works in pro sports.

That could mean, quite obviously, the end for McMillan. And that's just one more reason this season could be a big franchise turning point. Will there be enough success to fight off the wrecking ball?

Or will one more year of playoff one-and-done mean changes on the sidelines and on the floor?....

Had this been the thread title from the beginning, the thread would have run about 1 page long. The thread was intended as an insult to Mediocre Man, with a secondary subplot about a Jaynes article.

My last French class was in 1968, so I hope I got that right. Denny was making money off this thread till you changed it. He's hopping mad and wants you to change it back. Says just for that, he's including your free computer as taxable income for the year.

Damn, I forgot you're not in on his uberlevel mod board. Forget what I said.

I'm just a peon. I only have the green font b/c I found a "cheap jersey" post in the Mariners' forum one day and they told me to be a GM and delete it. :)

But I think that Nate's going to leave when he wants to. It may be a resignation b/c he doesn't want to work with the new high-priced GM genius we bring in, but he won't be fired by PA, Miller or anyone else, imo.
