Eating Crow about Scoot (1 Viewer)

You talking about yourself? All you do is troll and post negative troll comments 24/7 to get a reaction out of people. If people didn’t actually fall into your trolling trap job, I bet you would post less and less lol
On this one though there is an actual conversation. The Blazers made a decision to go the way they did. They decided to draft a guy that would eventually become Damian Lillard's replacement in theory. This is a thread about Scoot, and Thompson could have been picked instead.
Where the troll part comes is that he posts this in every thread he posts in and says absolutely nothing to make any correlation as to what he would have done differently because he is only using a very weak 20/20 hindsight jab that a player drafted after Scoot MIGHT end up having a good career. He also doesn't seem to be interested in looking at the vast improvement Scoot has made both defensively and on offense.
I'm still looking forward to where Scoot is in two years.

Yes, but he's @THE HCP 's little brother so we HAVE to put up with him!

Can’t help but wonder if he would play better under a different coach? He really needs to be in starting lineup for remainder of year so we can see what we have.

Kj scoot hasn’t made any improvements stop it. If anything some can say he regressed

Sentence 1: Correct, another coach might raise him to Simons' level after 2 more long years, or might not quite.

Sentence 2: We can see right now. Little Scooter is taking minutes from Simons, who improves when he gets a lot of time. We should trade Scooter while we can still bamboozle another team. His trade value drops every month.

Seriously? If Scoot started shooting 35-40% from three and started scoring 18-22 points a game average as Simons has done exactly where would you stand on "Little Scooter".
Maybe I just missed the sarcasm here? If so I apologize in advance.

Anybody got more of this from ESPN Insider?
The third pick in last year’s draft, Henderson was expected to make a significant jump as a sophomore — as many young guards do after adjusting to the NBA. Instead, his minutes have dipped and his numbers have either stayed flat or have fallen — a problematic development for a rebuilding franchise in need of some cornerstones. “I thought it was a guarantee he’d play much better this year than last and show some things,” an executive said. “I’ve been wrong. His numbers are down, and the eye [test] confirms it.”

Honestly I just don't care about this point what people are saying about Scoot. He is what he is. He's either gonna develop or he isn't. I'm tired of all the clickbait shit about him. It's been non stop since last year.

What are they saying about Brandon Miller?
The #2 pick.

@kjironman1 you see that assessment about Scoot? Like I said you can make the argument he’s regressed. Don’t be a homer

One might say, his stats are down because his minutes are down. One wouldn't have noticed: His stats per minute are down, too.

The situation is not set in stone. We could trade him soon while we can still get a mid-1st-round pick.

The situation is fluid. His value drops every month.

His value drops every month? lol man...you guys have no clue how to have patience. Thompson is getting tons of run right now, like 35-40 mins per game and starting since they have Smith out for 4-8 weeks.

Scoot is not getting that run and still coming off the bench. Maybe if he was starting, and playing 35-40 mins a game like Thompson where he can be comfortable in his role, maybe he would put up, you know, the same stats he did towards the end of last season in the last 7 games where started and put up these numbers :

19.4 PPG
9.7 Assists
3.4 Reb
41.7 FG
41.7 3P FG on 6.9 attempts per game.

Dude he’s better than Camara. Nobody outside of Portland knows Camara. We overvalue our guys like crazy. Always known for that

Yes, Toumani Camara is currently gaining national attention, particularly for his defensive contributions and growing offensive role with the Portland Trail Blazers, with several national analysts and media outlets highlighting his recent performance and improvement throughout the season; Blazer fans aren't the only ones noticing his growth.
Key points about Camara's recent attention:
  • Improved play:
He is receiving recognition for his consistent defensive play, strong rebounding, and developing offensive skills.
  • Media coverage:
Sports writers from outlets like The Athletic
are including Camara in lists of players who have impressed them this season.
  • Blazers rebuild factor:
With the team in a rebuilding phase, Camara's emergence as a key player is garnering more focus.

No. I actually watch games and come up with my own assessment instead of paying $12 to let someone who is trying to get clicks tell me what is happening. Obviously yes YOU can make an argument he has regressed but you are looking past the reality of what is happening right now with this team. Lets see how thing start going after some moves are made? It's pretty obvious Grant is being sat. It's also pretty obvious Ayton/Simons are being shopped. I'll wait this out a bit before I let Bontemps tell me how to think. As the season continues we will get a better look at what Scoot will do. Again as it's been said many times. he's 20 years old playing behind guys that seem to have no future with the team.

That's pretty much what happened last year with Scoot. When he played more his numbers got better. I would assume that will happen again this year after the deadline.

Half of the fourth period and no mention of Scoot in the game thread to say how abysmal he is. Have people given up?

and real question without making fun of you @THE HCP. You preached patience for 18 months now. And I tend to be on this side of the spectrum as well with players. But do your confidence stays high or you are losing patience, even a little ?
