Ed Davis to Portland

Ed Davis has a better career PER, TRB% and BLK% than Thompson.

Either Davis is underpaid or Thompson is grossly overpaid

He's not a bad alternative tbh, but I gotta see the terms. I like his game.

Writing is on the wall, though. See ya, Lamarcus

Not really, we need size even if we bring LMA back but not Rolo. We'll lose Rolo, but can return LMA with Leonard, Plumlee, Vonleh, Davis and Kaman. That's solid depth.

I can do a S&T of Bledsoe + pick for Aldridge right about now.

I don't like signing more big guys who need minutes. Essentially, this says no minutes for Vonleh.

Why? If Kaman is basically third string, we presently have Leonard, Plumlee, Davis, and Vonleh at the 4/5 spots. I think there's enough minutes to go around.

I sure hope we aren't using Von in a deal with Indiana for Hibbert. Could that be JO all over again?!?!

Good signing. People Meyers, Mason and Vonleh can't play the entire game. We were talking about having LaMarcus and Monroe yesterday so now we have 70 minutes of game time that opened up. Ed Davis won't prevent Vonleh from having a backup role.
I guess the question is "who are we?" If we're a 30 win team, Vonleh better get minutes. If we're a 50 win team, we can't afford to throw away minutes. Who are we?

Front Court:
Plumlee, Leonard, Vonleh, Davis, Kaman.

Mmm. Assuming Kaman doesn't play, I suppose there's still minutes for Vonleh.

Believe it or not, I think this means we keep Kaman as a mentor.

Honestly I see Vonleh as a tweener anyways

Too skinny to guard the big guys

Feet too slow to guard the perimeter guys

Kaman to Indiana in an unbalanced trade.

Hibbert/Plums/Legend
Legend/Mr Ed/Art Von(de)leh
Farouq-a-Loop/King Crabbe
Hendo/3J
Dame/Frazier

I assume Indiana is holding out for a young player or draft pick in the deal. That is why I was thinking Vonleh since he played for Indiana. I hope not though.

I guess we classify Leonard as a stretch 5 so I guess we still had room.
Leonard, Plumlee, Davis, Vonleh.........Kaman

I dont mind this at all. With or without LMA, we are a far deeper team with far more options of how to play.

Vonleh right now a solid pF size and quickness wise. 240 with a 7'4" wingspan? He could use some weight but he can guard most PF's with a little experience. Especially with all the stretch 4's these days.

So according to Woj if LA comes back well resign Lopez?

Laker fans are kind of pissed they did not keep Davis. Not as pissed as some of the other players they lost , but they liked Ed.

Blazer Brute Squad

Plumlee - 7'0"
Leonard - 7'1"
Kaman - 7'0"
Davis --- 6'10"
Vonleh - 6'9"

Just pound the little small-ball teams into the ground!

We're going to b better/more competitive v. what fans/world thinks; I like this move. Being the underdogs again is good; no1 will c us coming when we beat their asses into the ground! :mrt:Ed & Vonleh & all the C's & Pf's will play plenty; @ 1st, Vonleh won't play a ton bc he still needs to b brought along a little slower (learn our guys & plays, he's not alone in this of course); should Vonleh start to break out later in the year (or have strong indications of some major leaps), then we can trade Ed mid-season w/ his very friendly contract

I suppose he is only 19 so naturally he'll fill out a little bit

When everyone is going one way, go the other. Blazer fans would embrace a tough minded team that roughed opponents up.

I certainly wouldn't mind. I think we can all agree that outside of Wes we've been a pretty soft team for quite some time. Not so sure that label can be applied any longer.
