anyone else getting this? Reviews are blowing up all over the place for this game. Huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series from Morrowind on.

I will be getting it at some point... I loved Morrowind (played it for dozens, perhaps hundreds, of hours) and I played Oblivion quite a bit, too (although less, because by the time I got a new computer that could handle it the game was sort of old).

I have high expectations for Skyrim and I look forward to getting it.

But... I just noticed it comes out tomorrow. I clearly am not THAT plugged into things. I might wait for Christmas and get it then. We'll see... :)

lol yeah there are a few games that I will get the DAY it comes out. Fifa. Elder Scrolls, and Battlefield. The rest have to wait, and I do them on ebay for cheaper.

Too many games out right now... somebody give me their paypal password.

it looks cool, although i kinda hate how it changes the location of quests based on the places you have or havent been...should be dope though. i dont really have time to devote to games like these anymore though, need 100 hours at least to get the best bang for your buck

MAKE the time, dammit!

Way too many games coming out. Unfortunately, this will have to wait.

My kids and I rented it from Redbox. Very cool game... but the fighting is kinda lame. We really like the freedom of being able to walk around and do whatever you want.

What platform? Presumably a console, based on the fighting not being up to your expectations.

the games take a little getting used to in the fighting department, especially if you play shooters all the time, although imagine MW3 if all you had was a sword....

I remember playing the first TES: Arena game when it came out in the mid 90's. This game was originally supposed to be a game where you battled opponants in an arena, and they expanded it out so that you could do things on the side, and obviously got a little carried away and built a huge world. I remember breaking into people's houses and sleeping over and over to kill orcs and get XP points. What a geek I am! Then south park made an episode where the kids killed thousands of of boar to get XP.

I got really bored with Morrow wind though. I found it to be kinda dull. Games like Baldur's Gate and The Witcher are better than this series IMO....but i"ll consider getting this game.

F those Trolls man! I ran into one of them once and it hacked me and I died with one hit. I reloaded to fight it with my bow and it would have taken like 90 hits. I ran

Same thing happened to me with the first one i found, swatted it with my sword several times, and it turned around and killed me in one hit.

I got sucked into playing this game for about 6 hours this weekend! Great game! It starts getting difficult! Took me several try's to kill a 3rd dragon and the fire throwing thing to get the stick for the lady to cure the tree. I bought a horse, but wasnt sure if I can ride it after Lydia follows me... will she be able to keep up?
Now I gotta decide if I want to buy it or not.

I ended up getting it, too (downloaded it on Steam). I played a fair bit through the weekend.

The first time I saw the giants I wandered up to them and got too close at one point--I think I got killed in one hit (or kick? Not sure). I have avoided confronting them since then. :)

dont buy it. Go through the "Dark Brotherhood" storyline and one of your rewards is a horse that follows you to each town you travel to even on fast travel. If buying a horse is like Oblivion, your horse can die, or if you travel without it, you lose it.

PS... If you can avoid playing this game... .AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too addicting. I just now saw Santeesioux's comment he made 2 days ago! I had a 4 day weekend (took monday off) and I was gonna play a bit, but before I knew it I literally put 22 hours of gameplay in. Last night I was only gonna play a little bit, since I worked today. I sat down to play at 11:00, and the next time I looked at the clock it was 2:30 AM.

today at work has sucked.

pps last night while wandering to an ancient ruin that took me literally 20 minutes to walk to as I hadnt discovered it yet... In the middle of a clearing I ran into two Giant trolls and a wooly mammoth that didnt like me passing. Of course I hadnt saved so I wasnt about to re-do that 15 min of the trip I already had, I decided to face them, as I beefed up my Destruction and Restoration magic... So I run in to get in range, and a Freaking Dragon decides to attack at the time also! WTF! It was like a free for all, cause the Dragon hated me, the Giant Trolls did too, and they hated eachother. Epicness ensued, and my trustee steed Shadowmere tried helping too by kicking the dragon. 10 Restore Health, and Magickas later... I was the last person standing.

I am now a level 25 Wood Elf who is the most badass Archer/Thief/Lightning Shooting Mage EVER :p

I've seen a horse die AND I've (evidently) lost one when fast-traveling. Just FYI. :)

haha well there you go. Go through the Dark Brotherhood and get Shadowmere, he doesnt die, and always follows you.

I didn't want to be the first to post, but I'm a lvl 16 Imperial sword/shield/heavy armor user. A fighter, I guess, with some restoration and some lockpicking.

I haven't played since Sunday and I'm getting itchy :)

Ed O.

I went with the generic Nord two handed sword heavy armor user who is somehow the arch-mage of the college.

Was given a Best Buy gift card but they were out of the game at the store. Guess it will have to wait until the weekend. UFC 139 & Skyrim... apparently I should just hang a NO GIRLZ ALOWD sign on my door.

Agree with Wheels! I have turned into a video game geek! This is the first game I've ever been addicted to playing... very sad!
I'm level 18.
Another tip is that you can fast travel to towns you havent visited yet by using the horse wagons that are at the stables in every town.

I've been playing ES games since Daggerfall and Skyrim seems to be the best of the bunch. It looks like they really learned some lessons after working on Fallout have finally created a pretty compelling narrative to go along with their sandbox.

BTW, the game is great on a pretty good PC (ATI 6950, 8GB RAM, Intel Quad Core 9550), no crashes, quick load times, smooth frame-rate and pretty good texture quality (16X AF, 8XAA, FXAA, Ultra detail)

My Imperial is trending towards being a backstabbing, sword + shield wielding, magically inept rogue.

I've been cut down by skeletons and bandits so far. No dragons or giants (that I fought) yet.
