Where does throwing your back out changing underwear fall?

Happened last night. Back is killing me. Can't sit or lay on my sides. If I move, a spasm of pain rips through me.

Been having leg pain the last week and half in my outer quad. Last night I was changing my briefs and my legs just crumbled from beneath me and I caught myself before I fell, but to do so, my body twisted in an unnatural way and I felt my back contort and I was awash in some excruciating pain. I then found myself stuck in a slightly hunched position. I couldn't move. I was like that for about 5 minutes before I willed myself to move slowly. I somehow got on my briefs on and got in bed. I almost had to call to my wife who was in the kitchen, but I managed myself. Couldn't sleep much.

Went to the doctor today. Got an MRI. No compression or herniated disc, a slight bulging disc, but it looks like that has been there. Mostly like a freak severe lumbar sprain.

Not complaining, I know I could be in a far worse state. Just thought it was humorous.

My friend slipped in the shower, fell on her arm and broke it. Had to drive herself to the hospital one handed. Said hardest part getting dressed one handed was putting on her bra.

Damn. Sounds painful. Yeah, putting on a bra one handed sounds pretty difficult.

And she is too modest to go in public without.

My chiropractor taught me how to crack backs, back in the day: turn someone on their side, bend their upper knee, push down on the knee.

So I'm at a party and I start teaching people this little trick. Gal says to me, "let me do it on you." OK!

I lie down on the living room floor. The entire party gathers around to watch - a good 30 people. I assume the position. She pushes down on my knee . . . and I ripped Loudest. Fart. Ever.

Never taught that trick again!

When I threw my back out 6 years ago, I was putting my pants on getting dressed in the morning. I was in the utility room at 5am (had pulled my pants from the dryer) while my wife slept in our room, lifted my foot off the floor, and then suddenly found myself in the floor, and unable to stand. I eventually crawled-- pantsless--across my house to my bedroom, waking my wife up while declaring (in tears), "I've fallen and I can't get up." I had to use a walker in order to go to the urgent care that day.

So what I'm saying is, I understand.

Chris if at all possible lie in a fetal position curled up as far as you can with your heart on the bottom...I have rice bags sewn together into heat pads that I heat in the microwave for 3 minutes and put on the back to relax the muscles....I'm fairly good at back adjustments but it's not something you want to guess about, that's for sure.

Sounds familiar.

About 4 years ago I went to pickup my youngest from middle school, I waited for her at the bottom of the big hill from the school, went out of the car to help her carry something to the car, stepped off the sidewalk, apparently there was a slight angle to the street near a storm drain and somehow I broke my foot just getting off the sidewalk.

Had to hop to the car, drove home on that broken foot, got in, onto the sofa and texted my highschool kid that I can't come to pick him up and he needs to walk home.

My family has been making fun of me going off sidewalks ever since... Getting older has some side effects I tell ya

Luckily where the foot was broken has enough blood supply so just a couple of months in a boot were enough and I did not need to have surgery

Hello,

I have thrown my back out reaching down for the soap in the shower after dropping it.
The call in to work was indeed embarrassing.
I hope you recover soon!

Myself and the other members of my family all have jacked up backs. A cross country road trip in a U-Haul was what really flared mine up. Haven't been able to feel my left big toe except for shooting pain in a couple years. No, I was not driving said U-Haul to Coeur d'Alene.

I once sneezed while taking a shower and threw out my back/shoulders.

couldn't even raise either of my arms up to turn off the shower.

Getting old is fun.

This was embarrassing.

In my young days, admittedly a long time ago, in warm weather I often didn't bother with pajamas.
I was living in an apartment building and was awakened when the morning newspaper was tossed against my door. Heard delivery person go out back door. It was really early and no one was up so I figured I would just reach outside, grab the paper and read it in bed. I reached outside ... and a door opened ... I was looking down so just saw shoes and they were definitely men's shoes. I did NOT look up, just bolted back inside and slammed door. I never did learn which of my neighbors caught me in the altogether.
