They claimed that the Bobcats filled their needs much better than the Blazers. That Crash won't be able to fit in with a roster already stocked with 2's and 3's.

Thats bullshit. I've read they decided to go about with the trade because they like the future with Gerald Henderson.

What were the Bobbers' needs? Buying out Przy and replacing Wallace with Dante Cunningham?

I think the ESPN talking heads haven't watched Joel much this season.

Jalen Rose thinks that they got great picks..... the NO pick this year and one from us in 2013? Really? Those are "great picks"?

Jordan wasn't a good GM before, and probably still isn't. Time will tell on this one. Knowing our luck we will get Wallace only to find out both his knee's are about to explode.

15th-20th pick from NO, and likely the same in 2013 from Portland.

For an All-Star player who is 28 years-old.

Yeah Jalen, good call.

Well if that were the case, he wouldn't ass the physical and the trade wouldn't go through.

It seems like it's trendy to pick on the Blazers right now... oh well. Jalen Rose is a moron anyway. He's one of those guys who just smiles a lot on camera and doesn't say anything of substance.

I've never understood how Jalen Rose got an analyst job... the dude is terrible and says nothing all that great.

picks in the 2nd half of the first round aren't worth a huge amount. the percentage of valuable NBA players that come from that range isn't much higher than in the second round. it's a crap shoot and most are busts.

First round picks are routinely overrated. I think it's due to the difference in the drafts between the major sports. In the NFL and MLB, first round picks are extremely valuable, due to the length of the draft and the size of the talent pool being drafted from. The NBA draft is much shorter because the talent pool being drafted from is smaller and a mid- to late-first round pick isn't anywhere near as valuable as it is in the NFL/MLB.

tl;dr: People are often way too impressed with the idea of a "first round draft pick." If it's top five pick? Sure, it's a big deal. Maybe even a top ten. Beyond that...it's not valueless, but not a big deal.

Jalen realizes he doesn't have to kiss MJ's ass anymore, right?

Charlotte's needs are two fold:

Shed salary and stockpile picks, so the NBA can find a buyer for them.

I don't think our needs were an overpaid, oft-injured, fading SF/PF in the twilight of his career.

ESPN nailed it.

The beauty of it is we don't care he is overpaid. He might be get injured a lot and starting the down side of his career, but he will give us more production than what we gave for him.

Considering how our 1st round draft picks have done the last few years, it might not have been a bad option anyhow.

Yes we do not need an player who last year was an all star an All NBA defensive team. We don't need a backup for LMA or a player who can rebound really good for his position. A veteran player who helps on both ends of the court. We do not need an explosive scorer off the bench... Everything I listed we already had right?

Our pick in 2013 could easily be a lottery pick.

Miller will be gone and Mills is our only replacement.

Wallace will be gone, no way we re-up with him for what he'll want.

Camby will be retired. Roy will be announcing for TNT. Oden's done.

We'll have LaMarcus, Wes, Nic, Rudy, Patty and some new kids from 2nd round picks.

At 28 he's in the twilight of his career? If he were 31 or 32 then I'd agree, but not at his age. He is injury prone...but given how much other players make, I wouldn't necessarily say he's really overpaid.

Don't get me wrong, he's nice to have at the moment, and the price seems about right, but he's gone in 2 years and we've supposedly been building for the future the last 6-7 years no without any sort of forward progress.

This continues the error of being sidetracked.

I think the Wallace trade proves that the front office does not want to rebuild. They want to go out and do some damage now. The trade for him is pure forward progress in terms of improving the team.

Pryz's contract, Dante, and 2 first rounders does seem like a lot to give up for a guy they wanted to get rid of. But oh well, I'm happy we got Wallace!

The NBA does not need to find a buyer for the Bobcats, Jordan bought them last year. You are thinking of the Hornets.
