For you, the answer is, north of the border. Way, way, WAY north of the border. Ho, ho, ho!!!

I'm going to humor JLprk and pretend he actually meant what he said.

This move wasn't about getting younger or building for the future. This move was about winning now and making a push after the west got considerably weaker. I think PA and Cho see an opportunity to make some noise in the playoffs. With Denver and Utah getting significantly worse, and Phoenix still reeling from that terrible trade earlier in the season, I think we've got a chance to get HCA.

I think it's also about the near future. If Oden is healthy next year we'll be even better with this trade.

I consider winning now to be a window of 2-3 years. Miller only has maybe one or two good years, and Camby might have even less. If we're going to make a push with a Miller, Wallace, and Camby as part of the core, it has to be in the next three years. Building for the future would have been selling off Miller and Camby and putting younger guys with Matthew,s Aldridge, and Batum.

I like this post mainly because with Roy's contract killing us we won't be able to really rebuild all that well so we might as well try and rack up as many wins as possible in the next three to four seasons then if nothing happens when Roy/Aldridge are expiring most of our other big pieces will have been gone and we can start a "fresh" rebuild there. Were handicapped as is, so we might as well try and make the best of it instead of just cutting our losses and hoping for something that isn't realistically going to happen (which is build threw the draft like it originally looked like we were drafting a contender or OKC getting lucky on Westbrook/Durant/Ilbaka/Harden ect.)

Realistically the only way we could "start fresh" would have been if someone would take Roy off our hands, and that just isn't happening. At least this way we can see if Roy is able to come back and play somewhat effectively, and maybe he can push his value up a bit so we can trade him in the offseason. I'm not very optimistic about Roy's chances, but I still like our future and with Crash I think we can at least make a push for HCA in the playoffs.

I loved Kenny's analysis of the deal. He said we rebuilt our 4 through 8. Our strength has been throwing waves of 6'7" guys at you that can play like they're 6'9" or 6'4". We may not win a playoff series, but you don't want to play us.
