You should really stop telling folks to stop expressing their opinions...seems to me you've just had a meltdown and now you're looking for a failure support group...who cares about folks hating Jake Layman and Evan Turner and feeling like they've been stood up by DHoward and Parsons...I look at it like there are no mistakes in guys signing elsewhere for their own reasons. Disagreeing with you does not translate to shitting on you dude. I don't see anyone feeding the Portland still sucks line either. That's just an opinion. Why meet with a free agent if you know he's not going to consider your team..waste of time. Tons of people had us ranked 29th in the league last year. That's a lot of hate that our team didn't buy into. I'm not buying into it this season .Dont even try to spin it that way. Manyof us were shit on for not buying into the discussions that whiteside, horford, durant etc would actually give us the time of day. Some posters were so sure these guys would rush at the chance to sign with portland. Which was not the case becauze we couldnt even meet with any of these dudes. Portland still sucks in the eyes of top free agents.
I dont need a failure support group old man rivers. I love portland, it just does not appeal to the nba demographic on a national scene. Love the team, dont like the signing. I really don't think Bazemore is any better than Crabbe... and that dude just got the same deal as Turner.
Well, it kinda makes sense if he doesn't get a huge deal. His sample size is TINY. He had ONE decent season in the NBA, I could see him getting the same money Clarkson got from the Lakers.Crabbe needs to fire his agent if he can't get more than $12.5 million in this market.

I'm still not convinced this was a good signing, that it makes our team better then last year...
That's the boat I'm in.I'm still not convinced this was a good signing, that it makes our team better then last year...
I agree with your pizza man. I was hoping for a more sexy signing, but Turner will indeed help us. He also plays tough and hard. Portland will dig that about him, even if they don't like how contact.Let me tell what pizza guy said to me. "Will fit great with your back court. He's an underrated shooter, but what will drive defenses nuts is his ability to drive. With your shooters he will be tough." He loves the signing for what it's worth
I guess that means he needs to handle the ball a lot to maximize his ability (which I'm fine with) My only problem is that taking the ball out CJ and Damian's hands doesn't seem like the best use of their talents.Let me tell what pizza guy said to me. I guess I'll leave it to Stotts to figure out, he's a better basketball mind than I am.
Anderson is a much better scorer and is a big. Bigs naturally get pd moreJust saw that Ryan Anderson got $80 mil on a four year contract with the Rockets. Is he better than Turner? Certainly a better shooter, but not nearly the ball-handler/play-maker. Anderson finished sixth in the voting for 6th Man of the Year. Turner was 5th.

Except he doesn't play at all like a big. Crap on defense, not even that good of a shooter really, and can't rebound.Anderson is a much better scorer and is a big. Bigs naturally get pd more
I agree with you. But you cant teach height and he is a big who averages a healthy ppg. Bigs that shoot well seem to be able to get paid. And a 6 ft 10 guy with a 38% 3pt career average is a better shooter than you suggest. He also is a good ft shooter.Except he doesn't play at all like a big. Meyers hasnt proven anything near ryan anderson yet.So, you're okay with re-upping Meyers at around $80 mil for 4 years then?![]()
Meyers hasnt proven anythingnear ryan andersonyet.
In limited minutes. He hasnt ever averaged over 16 ppg. If someone believes in meyers potential to put up numbers while playing 30+ mpg perhaps they will sign him to a deal like that too.Except he rebounds better and shoots a higher percentage across the board.
