I know they have talked about this through training camp all, but it's nice to see Carter finally putting the work in

He looked impressive against Big Mac (Curry) and Cheeseburger (Randolph) and the rest of their squad

Here's more info

Carter is about to start his 10th season, and he's doing something he's never done before: He's working with a shooting coach. It makes perfect sense, of course: Bob Thate is among the very best at what he does. But why now?

"We're just getting up shots, making sure my mechanics are proper," he explained. "He's not changing anything, but it helps."

Let's guess: He keeps hearing the same thing throughout these sessions -- balance, balance, balance.

"No. It's nothing to do with balance. It's just mechanics," he said. "I still have confidence shooting it however, and I've worked on it long enough so that I can do it (off-balance), but it helps to have someone making sure the mechanics are correct. So I pulled him aside and he said he's willing to do so."

Actually, if you know the dedicated Coach Thate, he's been dying for Carter to ask.

Big grin: "Yeah, I know," Carter said. "And you know, it's paid off."
