"Broken" and "failed" are two different things, IMO. My car can continue to function despite several mechanical problems (broken) for quite a while before it actually stops running (fails).
 
I think people are just frustrated to see players make so much money. Remember that the NBA viewership is the whole planet, not just the USA.
I listed to talk radio. This whole summer, it has been all NBA. Nobody even knows if the MLB is playing. NFL training camp has started, and the conversation on ESPN/FS1 or even local sport is: Kyrie, LeBron, Steph, KD, LaVar Ball, ... etc.
You check out youtube channels, NBA stories gets the most clicks.
LeBron reign will soon be over. People would like to know, who the next king of the NBA will be.
NBA Franchises selling for 1.5+billion (bought at 85millions 20 years ago) and there are buyers from the whole world lined up to pay that money.
The most recent NBA draft was the best in a generation with talent after talent after talent ...
Seriously, what are people talking about?
Maybe the pace of growth won't continue, but the NBA will continue to grow.

I think the NBAs reached its height, and won't continue to grow much after this. I think the TV contract will scale back somewhat, as I think some fans will get tired of the superstar pandering, and not tune in as much as right now. That's the premise

I'm interested to see if the NBA ever comes up with a way to integrate a team in London and whatnot.
I think that's a way the NBA could grow.

Would be dumb to only put one team overseas. Would probably need to be 5 teams to expand the league to 40, So they could have their own division and 20 teams in each conference. One team only would get absolutely fucked by travel.

London is closer to New York than Portland...etc....Portland already gets fucked by travel

I don't think the NBA will be too worried about the West coast teams when/if they expand to the EU.

However it's undoubtable if the NBA figures a way to realistically make it work pending travel & competitiveness they'd generate quite a bit of additional revenue.

Who knows maybe they'll expand into Japan too.

Yeah, but NY is close to the farthest Portland had to travel while it would be the shortest distance London had to travel. It'd be like multiplying our travel by 5.
