Yeah that happened during the timeout before Dame's last three free throws iirc. What a night!

Always suspicious when it is a Toyota.

Nothing could go wrong last night!

car snobs! It's like saying, great, another person bought a new fangled computer...we've got trusty Royal typewriters!
Nope. I love the concept of hybrids. It just seems like too many Prius drivers are too busy worrying about their mpg and seeing how high they can get it (usually by driving slower than the limit) that they are oblivious to anything else. Or that's my theory and I'm sticking to it. I can think of no other reason for the high percentage of Prius drivers being so crappy. I drove daily from the PDX area to Salem for almost 30 years...and BG's wife drives a Prius...so I am highly biased. But I'd still like to own one someday.

I love mine...but my experience with crappy driving is different...they are usually muscle cars or hippies in VW microbuses. I don't drive in the Portland area much though...here in logging country..bigger, louder the car...heavier the road rage. The same folks who complain about them being quiet are driving around in Honda's with subwoofers...most annoying thing ever.

I drive around in a 92 GMC Sonoma with a subwoofer.

Sorry Riverman but, present company excepted I'm sure, Prius drivers (in general) are the worst and most inconsiderate drivers on the road, bar none. It's maddening.

Prius people in downtown PDX are literally the worst drivers. Stick in the left lane, don't move over, have no concept of anything around them, just like Cliffy said. It's maddening. I have no idea what people are doing behind the wheel, because I know sure as shit they aren't paying attention to driving. F'n terrible.

I don't drive in Portland very often but I can't remember ever thinking anything bad about Prius drivers. I think generalizing all people who just happen to own a certain car is pretty stupid though.

Let me rephrase that then: From my observation I've concluded that a high percentage of the worst and most inconsiderate drivers on the road drive a Prius. I'm sure there are good and considerate drivers who drive a Prius who go unnoticed. But for some reason a lot of inconsiderate dildos drive them. In the Corvallis area if someone is going to cut you off, hold you up, or otherwise drive as if they are the only car on the road or the only person who matters, chances are they are driving a Prius. Time after time.

That said, I could totally see myself driving one.

There are actually many questions as to what the overall impact of a hybrid really is when you take in the full production and future disposal of the batteries.

http://www.ibtimes.com/are-hybrid-v...-environmentally-safe-how-much-fossil-1187141
Batteries are in just about everything we use...keyboards, trains, airplanes, the militaries vehicles..clocks, watches...batteries are batteries and I've yet to meet a hybrid owner who needed to scrap a battery....you realize laptops, cell phones and desktop computers also have batteries...now let's compare hybrid cars to all the other daily things we need that utilize the battery..why is battery disposal only now the issue? Rubber tires are piled up all over the planet...if you're going to limit your carbon footprint...don't drive or use modern technology

I gotta ask...what do you drive?

I actually had a carbon footprint assessment done just for curiosity sake. Our household came out in the top 5% of most eco friendly.

Prius cars are the worst. I absolutely hate driving them. I thought the Civic hybrids were much much better to drive.

Well there you go. :)

Part of it has to do with horrible blind spots me thinks.

Didn't read the link, but off top I know for a fact that mining for the nickel, that is needed to make the batteries, causes more pollution than the vehicle will create in its lifetime.
