Fareless Max Zone Gone

Trimet is a money suck, so I'm glad they're charging people for their services.

its before a fucking basketball game, where is he going to eat, Ruth's Chris every time?

I used to tear up McCormick and Schmick's postgame happy hour. Then I went one day and it was closed down. Sad Brian. So I started using Chalupa coupons at taco bells on the way back to Seattle.

I didn't realize that my post would be so controversial. My daughters like to play trivia at BWW while we kill an hour before the game, and the 4 games a year they go to with my wife and me, that's where we go. Is that really a big deal?

HULK SMASH!

HULK SMASH!

We used to go to Rockbottom before games. I found it fine there as well, although it's nearly empty on game nights now with BWW a few blocks away.

Eh, sorry that I shared my pregame Max routine with my kids.

Carry on not thinking nor posting about me.

It clearly became more a discussion of BWW, and not about you, but you're so vain, you probably think this threads mostly about you.

Blah. You all got it wrong. If you roll in to downtown just after 5:00 when all the suits abandon post head to the Paris Theater. Or, if that feels dirty, head to Voodoo. They're neighbors. Between 5:15-5:40 their are usually one to three of those oddly slanted parking spots available (about 80% of the time) right there on the corner of 3rd and Burnside. Plug the meter until 7:00 (under $2 total), and venture to any of the endless bars/restaurants/strip clubs/porn theaters. Hop on Max at Skidmore (2 blocks) and you're at the RG in three minutes. It's the only way to roll. And when the game is over and you're good an buzzed, don't wait in the long Max lines to get you back across the river. Do this instead, it's almost always faster - walk towards the grain silo where the huge Blazer "mural" resides. Hang a left to the base of the Steel Bridge. There's a train track down there. Walk the track across the river. It's a fucking blast and it's super fast. Once across the river just hang a left and walk a few blocks and you're back at your car. Warning: trains DO use those tracks (learned that lesson "Stand By Me" style), and watch your step, there are large gaps between the planks. But it's worth the trip.

seriously right? good thing barfo didn't offer his opinion on a restaurant or we'd have this board on lockdown

I can totally appreciate doing a Blazer game this way. (I'm all about pre-game, parking and getting back to the car smoothly)

I've walked the bridge, both back and forth, to games and it is quick. Problem is that it rains so much, I puss out and don't walk. There are a couple trains that take you back downtown so it's always fun trying to pick the fastest way.

With parking, I do the same thing and try to find street parking and pay until 7, or sometimes I find a laoding zone where the hours are over and I park for free. But even smart park is a good deal costing about half a beer.

Going to suck if I have to start buying tickets to use the max . . . looks like I'll walking in the rain next year

It's ok. C+ to a B-. But is there a better place?

Better wings (regardless of location): Fire On The Mountain
Better meal (downtown for pregame): Rock Bottom
That's Fine For BlazerCaravan (perfect for me): Hawthorne Hophouse

I've been to Fire On the Mountain several times and was not impressed. I think the funky ambiance makes people think the wings are good, but I thought they were the same caliber as BWW. It's easy to let ambiance make one think the food is better than it actually is.

I've ate them to go. They are better than BWW's wings without a doubt. The ambiance doesn't add anything to the wing, trust me.

Ha ha, I agree with your ambiance therory, but FOTM is better than BWW imo. Maybe the shitty Chuckee Cheese of sports bars ambiance of BWW has me fooled?

Fire on the Mountain has awesome wings! Better than BWW, no doubt. There aren't as many things for grade school kids to do for an hour before a game, though, at FotM.

You're the board piñata for a reason...

You're the

"- sharing your most personal struggles/illnesses
- posting shirtless photos of yourself
- posting photos of your girlfriend
- telling us all how much money you'll make in 5 years
- begging for approval from male internet posters" guy.

I know it upsets you that you're uneducated, and that you have to carry boxes for a living. I actually do respect that job, though The world needs people to load boxes onto trucks, too, no matter how overpaid they are. I'll be working up near Swan Island over the next near for a project. Maybe I can stop buy and expense a lunch for you and the fellas as my appreciation for your dull, yet necessary, work!

I use UPS on a daily basis, and I should probably take the time to thank the little people who make the packages move from A to B.

BWW doesn't seem like it's that much better for kids than FotM. It seems very meat-head, fratty, beaverton.

Why are you making such a big deal out of where he takes his kids before games!!

Do you have kids? Have you brought your kids to BWW before a game? Does one of your kids love Buzztime trivia?

If not, what a stupid fucking post.

Oh, and thanks for the advice. :)

Your addition to the trolling/flame wars is noted.

Too bad you had to join a 'team', and don't have the balls to troll on your own.

I actually didn't have any help, and did do that all by myself. I wish I had a team of trolls to type for me.
