Well everybody can't like him so I can't call anybody a hater, he still a good rapper whether a couple of people on a message board say he is or not. Everybody from Andre 3000 from Jay Z and Ye' seem to agree with me when I say Wayne is nice.

Tha Carter I and Tha Carter II are both nice, and the Dedication 2 mixtape is mostly nice.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">give me some track names </div>
Hustler Muzik, BM JR, Earthquake, Fly In, Fly Out, Carter II, Get Over, Everything, Money on My Mind, Shooter, Tha Heat, verse on Hollywood Divorce, the entire Dedication 2 mixtape. There is so much more to...........

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">i'm surprised the dude even got a record deal to be honest.</div>
lol its funny you say that because wayne has been signed since a kid, and has been selling records since a kid and he has done nothing but grow as an artist.

Lil' Wayne isnt "nice" at all, he is definatley one of the worst rappers in the game, I'd go as far as saying he's one of the worst rappers of all time.

Sure he isn't nice. All because NTC12345678 can say he is not over a message board. I got one question for you though, how does it feel to have the power to decipher who is a "nice" rapper or not? God must have blessed you with that type of power.

God bless your opinion mate!

Hey man, the NTC has his opinion just like you have your opinion.

Oh, and I've decided to download a few tracks from the Rotten Apple to see if I like it. If I like what I hear, I'm going to buy it.

NTC is self-righteous as hell.
but then so am I so I understand that whole thing.

so is just about everyone here.

I love Andre 3000, but him giving props to lil wayne still doesn't change my opinion on the guy......he's believed to have a ghostwriter (which I think is true considering how his style changed), his lyrics are rather weak and don't even rhyme half of the time, his delivery is similar to listening to nails being scraped on a chalkboard, his punchlines like "shorty she wet that's a car pool" are not only incredibly wack, but they make no sense at all.......you know mainstream hip hop has fallen off when a guy that wack is considered one of the best in the game.

Dre's opinion should not change your opinion on Wayne. You think he has a ghostwriter because he changed his style? If you don't even like dude, how can you listen to enough of his music to be able to tell that his style has changed? So what your telling me is his delivery is weak, he doesn't rhyme, his punchlines are wack, and make no sense. Ok. So tell me what would a legend like Dre see in him then?

That just goes to show you. Not everyone likes the same style of music, and everybody has a different opinion. I'm not saying your not entitled to your own opinion, but for every person that hates Wayne there are people that like him. But you have to think, Andre 3000, part of the best rap selling duo ever knows what he is talking about. The same goes with Jay Z and the numerous of other people who have given Wayne his dues as an artist.

Its not like he is just "in" like Dem Franchize Boys, Yung Joc, or Mike Jones, Wayne has been in the game for a while and is still going strong.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If you don't even like dude, how can you listen to enough of his music to be able to tell that his style has changed? </div>

Because I have ears...lol....I give everyone a chance....and like you said EVERYONE has an opinion, that's why I said Dre liking Wayne doesn't effect mine.......It's an opinion that I think he's incredibly wack, but it's a fact that he isn't one of the nicest in the game today....at least for people with decent taste in music.

<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">but it's a fact that he isn't one of the nicest in the game today....at least for people with decent taste in music.</div>
actually that would be another opinion...... An example of a fact would be that Wayne has had back to back platinum selling CD's.

T.I., Luda, Weezy. I don't care if they all suck, I listen to them alot and I enjoy it.

T.I, Ludacris, DMX, and Game are all guys I enjoy listening to. I also like Chamillionaire and Young Joc.

Lil Wayne isn't bad. I son't understand why everyone is hating on him. Sure he may not be the most talented rapper, but he is still putting out better music than most in the mainstream

<div class="quote_poster">Brian Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I son't understand why everyone is hating on him. </div>I do.
It's cause he's wack as f**K!

Hey, don't get me wrong...I actually like some of his songs.

But as far as talent goes, I think he has very little. I'd call him mediocre at best.

There's also David Banner. Obviously I don't like him for his lyrical ability, etc., but he's entertaining.

I only remember David Banner from Def Jam: Fight for New York. That gives me an indication that he's not very talented at all at rapping.

Well I downloaded Young Dro's CD and it's not that bad IMO. I like the song 100 yard dash. Lil Wayne isn't as bad as people make him sound but he goes off track a lot in his songs. Ludacris, when he tries can be an amazing rapper. I recommend listening to grew up a screw up featuring Young Jeezy. Game's new album should be very good and Lupe Fiasco is becomming one of my favorite artists.

Lupe Fiasco. Don't know if he's considered mainstream yet (though I would think he is), I think I'll pick his album up sometime. He has good lyrical ability, reminds me of Jay-Z in a sense. . who I also sometimes listen to.

Lupe is definitely nice.

<div class="quote_poster">Air Fresh Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">actually that would be another opinion...... An example of a fact would be that Wayne has had back to back platinum selling CD's.</div>

No, actually it would be fact.

Having 2 platinum albums means nothing, 50 Cent has platinum albums, are you saying he's a better rapper than the likes of GZA? Lil' Wayne has been marketed very well, and the mainstream world have eaten him up.

How you can stand that plain, boring, monotone voice coupled with his shockingly bad delivery is beyond me. Not to mention the cliched metaphors that hardly ever make a point or sense.

I'm all for people having their own opinions, and I'm not getting on your case for <u>liking</u> Lil' Wayne, thats your choice, as much as it is mine to not listen to him, but I have to correct people when say he is a good rapper, because it simply isnt true. And I dont care if Jay-Z or Andre 3000 said he was good, what are they going to say about him? He's garbage? I dont think so.

I never said Andre 3000 said he was good, they asked him who he thought were some good rappers in the game right now. 3000 responded by saying "Wayne is the only one I check for" or something like that.

No actually what I said was an opinion is an opinion, This is an opinion:
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.
2. a personal view, attitude, or appraisal.</div>

A fact is something true based on quanitative or qualitative data. Wayne going platinum is just an indication that a lot of people are buying his music so obviously people think he can rap.

The same reasons why millions of other people like him.

The Detroit Lions are garbage, yet your still wearing a Eddie Drummond sig aren't you? You obviously like something about the Lions don't you? What do you see in them? They haven't made the playoffs in years. I know its a completely different topic, but its the same logic.

<div class="quote_poster">Air Fresh Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">No actually what I said was an opinion is an opinion. </div>
i agree. it is not a "Fact" that lil wayne sucks. NTC is confused and needs a dictionary. at least he has good taste in music

David Banner's a WAY better producer than rapper IMO.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Fresh:</div><div class="quote_post">A fact is something true based on quanitative or qualitative data. Wayne going platinum is just an indication that a lot of people are buying his music so obviously people think he can rap.</div>

I already flawed this logic once, but I'll do it again, since you seemed to have skipped over it. 50 Cent's first album went 6 times platinum, are you telling me he can rap? Does selling that many albums make him good? Album sales mean <u>nothing</u>. It's simply a figure which shows how many people are buying the album, but what the figures dont show, is that the majority of those people buying the records know nothing about Hip-Hop, and are buying the album based simply on the fact they think that its "cool" to listen to guys like Lil' Wayne and 50 Cent, due to the image they portray.

It's <u>fact</u> that Lil' Wayne has terrible delivery. It's <u>fact</u> that Lil' Wayne has a boring, monotone voice. It's <u>fact</u> Lil' Wayne has pointless, confusing metaphors. These are all <u>facts</u>. Just because you turn a blind eye to these things, doesnt turn it into a matter of opinion. Those are all factors which make a bad or poor rapper.

If you would like to show me examples of what makes Wayne a good rapper, by all means, feel free.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Fresh:</div><div class="quote_post">The Detroit Lions are garbage, yet your still wearing a Eddie Drummond sig aren't you? Actually it isnt the same logic.

Just gotta jump in here. None of those are facts. Calling his delivery "terrible" is an opinion. His voice may be monotone, but calling it "boring" is an opinion. Saying you are confused by his metaphors and that they are "pointless" is another opinion. Saying that those contribute to calling someone a bad rapper is an opinion. If you were being sarcastic than sobeit, but give me a break on calling them facts.

Yup

and 50 Cents First ablum was a nice album. I'm not saying he is a good rapper, but that album was nice.

and how would you know if the majority of the people who bought the albums know nothing about hip-hop? That is what is called speculation.

Wayne doesn't even get played on BET-106 Park, and he is hardly ever on MTV or any other show. A lot of his success has come from his mixtapes, which mainstream fans hardly ever listen to.

Ok, and please explain to me why arnt they facts? Because every thing I stated, Wayne has <u>proven</u> in his music. Now wether you like him or not, thats a different story. I mean I like Dr. Dre, but I'll be the first person to tell you he is a bad rapper.

I guess I'm just an old school purist at heart, lol.

Still can't call those facts though. I mean, almost everyone might agree with it. And it might be really valid. But, you're judging him to standard of lyrical ability, flow that other people may not agree with. Not saying I disagree with you, because I haven't doubted anything you've said about Wayne. But, a fact would be something like "Lil Wayne is male." Saying "Lil Wayne sucks" or "he has terrible flow" are opinions, even if 99.9% agree with you.
