Serbia won against Lithuania after really good defensive effort. Nikola Jovic was in S5 again, but again wasn't really a factor in a serious game. He looks like 5th option, when on the floor for Serbia.
 
US looks like they came to play now that the elimination round has begun.
 
Italy 2/19 for 3 at the HT and they scare to go under the basket.

If Jokic is in this world cup, they might have a good chance to win it all. He is that good.
 
Germany barely pulls it out against Latvia to earn the semi-final berth against US.

SGA vs Luka in the other QF match being played right now. Get the feeling this is going to be a fantastic game.

Canada struggling defensively on the perimeter, despite Dort and Brooks. Can't allow the opponent to shoot 58% from 3...

That Germany Latvia game was back and forth for most of it. Germany pulled away in the 4th and Latvia hit like 4-5 3’s in a row to come back

Canada blew the game open in the 3rd witha 19-3 run...hasn't been close since.
 
Doncic went to the locker room mid way through the 4th. Still no word on why.
 
Didn't Luka promise to stop whining so much and start taking fewer techs?

Really let his team down today.
 
Big man depth is an issue for most teams in this tournament but I think it will become a serious one for Canada in the final stretch. Clarke and Boucher are missed, probably more so than Murray/Wiggins. Where's Todd MacCulloch when you need him?

How long until we hear about Shaedon Sharpe on Canada’s national team?

Alright, cards on the table, I don't think Australia will do very well at this World Cup. We're in a transition phase, trying to integrate the old guard with new blood, and they're not gelling. I'm really worried that Patty's shot has gone, he's 35 almost 36, and his shot keeps coming up short. It looks like his legs have gone, and once a smaller shooters legs go, they can be out of the game very quickly. We might stand a chance if coach Goorjan goes more with the new blood, with limited minutes of the vets in short bursts; but he hasn't done that in practice games, he's leaned heavily on the vets. I think we'll be out in the quarters. Obviously I'd love to be proven wrong.

Looks like I overestimated us. This transition between generations is brutal, and not going well. At least we qualified for the next Olympics, but I can't see us doing very well because we'll still be transitioning.
 
Jovic looked good….again. Serbia beats Canada to head to the finals.

Would be funny if Canada beats the US and USA doesn’t medal.

USA’s easy schedule might have impacted their success in this tournament.

Yeah, Jovic played almost as well (in his grand total of fewer than 19 minutes) as LEGENDS Milutinov, Dobric and Duduric.

I will take the blame. I think if they played Germany again they would kill them as well though. Germany and Serbia took advantage of their size and shot ridiculously well.

I’m just joking around by the way.

Maybe if the USA didn’t have Edwards as their star player. Nothing against the guy, he’s definitely got a future with the team.
 
Can't staff the team with a bunch of role players.

These other teams have been playing together for years. So in the past we have just brute force beat them with insanely talented rosters. This team was not..... insanely talented.
