HEAD COACH TERRY STOTTS

“Well, in the end it looked like a good game, but it was a struggle for most of the night as far as just kind of getting into a rhythm. Minnesota did a good job of changing things up, going with a zone, so it was a game that I felt didn’t have a lot of rhythm. When we were able to get some stops in the second and third quarter, that was important for us. That’s when we’re at our best, when we get some stops and play in flow. I was disappointed with the fourth quarter that they scored 32. I would have liked to have had a better defensive fourth quarter, but it’s important to get wins when you can. It’s hard to be too disappointed with a win.”

On Aldridge’s performance:
“LA was really good throughout tonight, inside, outside, rebounding. He was good every time he was on the floor.”

Thoughts on getting 100th career win:
“I wish we would have gotten it against Memphis.”

On points in the paint for Wolves:
“We did a decent job with their transition. A lot of times that’s paint points. They did get some back cuts. On their offensive rebounds, they were able to convert those at a high rate…I think it’s a combination of things, but they don’t shoot a lot of threes. They’re an inside-the-three-point team, so I think that’s kind of their style. There were some drives. A little bit of everything.”

Do you see a difference in Wes (3rd straight game with 6 threes):
“I don’t know. About a week ago, everybody was asking what was wrong with Wes and why is he in a shooting slump. Things kind of come and go in this league. But no, I don’t see anything different, even when he wasn’t shooting the ball well, he was playing the same way. He’s in a good groove right now and it’s best not to question.”

On turnovers tonight:
“You’ve got to give Minnesota credit because they do force a lot of turnovers. Our passing definitely could have been better, but they were scrambling and putting themselves in position for that. Our passing could have been better and that number should have been lower.”

On Mo Williams:
“It was good to see him out there. I thought he had a good game. He really affected the tempo. I think he was having fun. He enjoyed playing against us and vice versa. Like I said before the game, I think he’s a good fit for them. He gives them leadership with a young team, but he still has a lot of game and he showed that tonight.”

HEAD COACH FLIP SAUNDERS

On their late surge:
“We played hard. I thought we played really hard. We didn’t always play smart. They are just tough to overcome. They’ve got size inside. They got perimeters that can makes plays off the dribble.”

On Shabazz Muhammad:
“He’s always going to play hard. Against certain teams, he’s a good match up, and if we’re patient enough to get him the ball, he can finish the run and make plays, and he did that tonight.”

On their bench after halftime
“We didn’t get much progression off our bench. Zach [LaVine] struggled. He didn’t get a bounce off his last game. Then he struggled again tonight getting us into an offense, and then they went after him. They went at him defensively as much as anyone. It’s a part of the learning process. We went from where they game probably should have been a two*four point game…”

On Andrew Wiggins:
“I went to the bathroom at halftime and he was throwing up for about two minutes straight. He said he wanted to give it a go. He went out there and I just saw him defensively and he just said no. He didn’t have the energy.”

On their zone:
“Our zone was good tonight. Our zone had the ability to take away their top penetration. With us we play so hard. We have such a slim margin of error.”

MO WILLIAMS

On their good start:
“It was a good basketball team we played today, we gave ourselves a chance and that’s all you really can ask for.”

On defending Damian Lillard:
“I just played basketball, I stuck close to the game plan.”

On mixing up zone and other defenses:
“I think we’re doing a good job of keeping teams off balance, with zone and man and knocking that rhythm off, I think that’s just part of how we play.”

On Aldridge being a tough matchup:
“We knew it was going to be tough with anybody guarding him, so we had a game plan against him and I think for the most part we did pretty good.”

SHABAZZ MUHAMMAD

On their late run:
“We tried to give it all we had, we were without a lot of guys, and they’re a very good team, a playoff team, and we just gave it our all. I
thought we had good defense and offense down the stretch and I thought we did a pretty good job.”

On the good first half:
“I thought we were really mixing it up with the zone and the man and they shook off of it and I thought that we played really well on the defensive end. We got a couple of tough breaks and that happens in a game but we got another one tomorrow so we just have to be ready.”

On how he got his offense:
“I thought I was really in a rhythm, my post stuff was going in, I felt pretty good out there. Mo [Williams] was doing a good job at looking at me in transition, he’s a great transition passer. They were all looking for me today, and even getting rebounds and moving out the ball was really important. I wish we got the win.”

Seem like just the other day Terry was hired. 100 wins already. Al Right!

Nate was into his 4th season before he could count a 100 wins. Oh those were the dark days, a ton of talent and I could not understand why PA would not provide a coach too.

I love that Stotts is still pissed about the Memphis game.
