That doesn't explain away that we gave talented players away for basically free.
And you don't know why we made the trade either? and I wasn't explaining why because I d0n't know.
I do know that the direction now is to build around one of the best players in franchise history and Im glad they are going to give it a shot.

I think we will have a very long Summer in Blazerland. We’ll surely find out how Dame feels about the shape of the team and if he cares to remain or if he’d rather move on!

If CJ and Nurk go, Dame’s only remaining friend is Blevins :)

I don't have to know what Joe Cronin was thinking to know he gave up the two best players in the trade for minimal assets.

absolutely but am I the conversation here or the Blazers? I was totally pissed in the lockout Felton year and bitched about it all the way to the end....maybe stop trying to find character flaws in my Blazer interests and just stick to your own ....I don't care if you don't like Joe or Jody or my views...I know there's a group around this place who's never been happy from what I can read...if I felt that way I wouldn't spend every day for years bashing an organization ...I'm here because I actually enjoy the franchise. Ups and downs. If I felt like some of you seem to feel...I'd bail on this team as a source of entertainment....the only other reason I could see people wanting to complain so much would be gambling losses...I figure there's a group of gamblers around this site who get pissed when they lose the spread...just a guess.....maybe those are better fans than me to you but I enjoy the team in my own way and definitely don't get pissed over a game that's for entertainment....I get pissed over politics.
Uh huh. People complaining about the team must mean we have degenerate gamblers around here!

Mick and many others have been a part of this community far before you even got here. This is the worst i've ever seen these longtime posters have felt about this team. And it definitely is not because they gamble.

My goodness!!!
The overvalueing (is that a word?) of RoCo and Powell is, to me, an absolute joke.
Ya'll act like we gave away Meadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal.
Two guys, although starters, have their picture, in my dictionary next to the word: "meh"...

I don't know why people can be so consistently upset with the team then.....I guessed about gambling losses...those folks are usually emo over sports failures and I don't claim anyone in particular...just speculation like people talking about me and how it sucks I'm enjoying the franchise making moves. I didn't say degenerate either.....my mom was a gambler...sweet lady..Mick and You have been here since before me....well shit then....I must be wrong!
99% of people would agree you are wrong.

I was just saying in context, which you don't have, there doesn't have to be some unknown reason like gambling that causes people to be upset with the team. If many of these posters that have been here for decades are upset with the direction....maybe. JUST MAYBE, it is because the direction of the team currenty sucks. As evidenced by our horrible trade.

You can hate on Norm and Roco all you want, but none of the players that came from the Clippers are better. That is a fact.

The problem was we didn't even get "meh" back

That IS NOT a fact it IS your opinion..
Here's mine: From what I saw last night, Justice Winslow is better than either RoCo or Powell.
And that isn't all that hard to do.
Hey look everyone. We have a giant homer.

Saying Winslow is better than Roco or Norm is absolutely hilarious.

Where is Ashton Kutcher? Am I being Punk'd?

Calling me a "homer" is like calling our last president intelligent.
I am not a Blazer fan. I am an NBA fan.
I will be a fan of this team when they get new ownership, as I've stated many times in here.

Might be the worst take I've ever seen. Winslow is lucky to be on an NBA roster and making a conclusion off of one game in which we got blown out by 30 points is beyond idiotic. No way around it.

The fleecing the Blazers were victims to in this trade are of historic proportions.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone that Jody Allen does not own the Blazers.

Roco sucked this yr, let's get real. So his trade value IM) was nada, Powell got last year's 21st pick, Bledsoe is basically an expiring, a 2nd, and IMO a decent Winslow with upside if healthy. Winslow is a Chauncy type player - good D and IF healthy good be a real nice pickup. Let's give Keon a chance before we pass judgment on him. Could we have done better? who really knows, but it's not that bad, one of the real key questions if this is a sign of whether Dame stays or goes.

Completely disagree. But appreciate your sensical nature in trying to explain why you think it isn't that bad.

Idiotic statement on Winslow, guy was good IMO in Miami, had some significant injuries past 2 years like a hip replacement and is just now getting healthy. Can he stay healthy? that's the big Q, but he already has shown he has talent to be a rotation player - get a fukkin clue

Some fans need to lie to make themselves feel better. I don't blame them because the return was inexplicably bad and they don't wanna feel shitty. But they should if you actually want this team to compete.

LMFAO. This post can't be serious, can it?

No way. I don't believe it.

You're missing the point. It doesn't matter what Winslow or Johnson do. It's their perceived value. For example, in 2014 we could have traded LaMarcus Aldridge for the Nuggets 2nd round pick. That pick turned out to be Nikola Jokic. That would have been a good deal in hindsight, but it would have been a terrible deal in terms of value. We could have gotten much, much more.

The guys we traded lost in the first round to depleted Denver in the playoffs and had a horrible start to the season ...one of them got benched ....you can miss Roco but you wouldn't have in Dec...and Norm is too small to play SF.....roster imbalance...Roco can't shoot or dribble or pass either....we weren't trading guys who were impacting our ability to win games...they came in and we actually got worse with them starting.

Nobody is saying they needed to stay. What we're saying is that we should have gotten a first round pick or two since Caris freaking Levert just got one. Can't have a discussion with people who are being disingenuous.

Nah man. We need to just give away our talent. That's the way to a contender. They were end of the bench guys anyways.

that's fine...I'm saying we over valued the ability to get what you want from both guys...I don't believe they didn't try and get more from each player but this is what was doable...it's not disingeuous to speculate about the inner workings of front offices at the trade deadline....let's not open the disrespect can of worms and then we CAN have a conversation...otherwise why engage an opinion at all?

6 days before deadline and you believe they tried?

Horrible take, home slice. If you feel disrespected than that's probably just you feeling guilty for trying to sell us on something as ridiculous as "we got max value for our guys."

I'm not all that familiar with you, Amiricon, but from what I can see, your talent is calling every post you disagree with "hoorible take" "the worst take I've ever heard" etc;...
In the scholastic world of debate, there is a word for fellas like you.

All of a sudden RoCo and Powell are scrubs and the Blazer front office did their best regardless of getting under the cap?

"The guys we traded lost in the first round to depleted Denver in the playoffs and had a horrible start to the season .......we weren't trading guys who were impacting our ability to win games."

Basically @riverman , you just described Dame for this season. Powell and RoCo were worth more than we got. Our front office and ownership is just a joke. Even if there are more moves coming, I just have a hard time imagining this is the best they could have done. What LaVert (injury issues) just got confirms that to me.

Exactly.

Winners.

Absolutely. I’d trade him right now. He’ll be on the decline soon and I don’t see us putting a contender around him anytime soon

What's the least you'd be willing to take in return?

Well, don't we finally have the proof that we didn't get good value? Powell better in most statistics than LeVert, especially efg % and three point %, better slightly in some advanced stats and worse slightly in others. Yet Indiana just got a first and second for him plus an entirely expiring contract, not one with a guaranteed $4 million next year. Who can now say we got the best deal possible yesterday? And that expiring just as big as Bledsoe's.

What's the least you'd be willing to take in return?

Hard to say, a package of young prospects. I’d do it for Jaylen Brown and a first.

I’d do it for Simmons package.
