He NEEDS to start taking shots at his coach, too! Not publicly, mind you. But I'm sick of Dame sticking up for Stotts when it's clear to SO MANY of us how many shortcomings he has. Replacing Neil isn't going to make the team perform better. Replacing Stotts very well could.

Lillard's not going to criticize his buddy, whom he sees for hours every day, who lets him overshoot all game. It's easier to turn against the higher-up in the back office.

And how is that

By the new coach installing a real defense, not one based upon simple energy like Stotts'.

I don't know. People keep complaining about Stotts and defense--when he had abysmal defensive personnel, his defenses sucked. When a good defensive anchor like Nurkic was added to the roster, he's built a top-ten defense. When he had Matthews and Batum and Lopez, he had a strong defense.

Sounds like he needs players with actual defensive ability to field a competitive defense. Like nearly every coach.

Please, elaborate... Because ALL defense requires maximum energy so do tell what you mean by "based upon"...

If Neil is about out the door, I just hope he doesn't screw us on the way out.

Neil lucked into drafting Dame Lillard but then wasted his second lottery pick of the 2012 draft on the first, of what will become many, 7-foot-tall American-born Caucasian centers, who are all bums: Meyers Leonard

Was this written by MM ?
Also, "the first of many" ? I don't even recall a second one.

This could have been very funny if it was well done but it's so full of errors and thing the author seem to actually have no clue about it's actually not

I thought a few things were off but didn't care. Still hilarious

yeah, I mean, for all their faults, Layman and Leonard are actually pretty damn athletic. Now, how that translates into making swish3's and playing D is beside the point.

But I can see the trend he's talking about: Kaman, RoLo, Plumlee, um...

Sheesh, people are still debating about LMA leaving what three years ago? This is clearly an indication of how bad the Blazers are this year if a three year old debate is resurfacing.

WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT ALDRIDGE (evidently some still do hehe)

The fact that Aldridge is still Olshey's signature event, shows how few trades or signings he has done in all the years since.

This thread deserves a sticky, I don't understand how he is still employed. His Mo Williams deal back with the Clippers should have black listed him. Then fails to get anything for LA, gets lucky Parsons shuns the team, overspends just to overspend.

Take away his trade for Nurkic who they are about to vastly over pay or squander and Olshey tenure has been worse to watch than a marathon of Tyler Perry movies.

Neil Olshey said:
"It doesn't matter, it really doesn't matter," Olshey told reporters, referring to Batum's pricetag. "Let us worry about the money. You guys write about the players and the team and how well or how poorly we play and how guys are developing. We'll worry about how we manage our cap and how guys get paid. Guys' values are based on what they bring to the team, and I can assure you Nicolas will absolutely live up to this contract."

Ok, clownshoes. I let you worry about the money, and I worried about team development. I've now seen you pay 2 teams (removing our ability to buy draft picks and such) to take on players (and still have to have Nicholson on our cap for 2.7M a year for 6 more years) that we let you worry about with the money. You now have impacted how well or poorly the team plays and how guys are developing (on someone else's squad) because of your fuckups with how you managed the cap and how guys got paid. And you don't even have the "we didn't see this coming" excuse, b/c forum nerds were squealing about it 18 months ago. I mean, it seems to me as if guys are not developing (I'm looking at Meyers, Jake, Moe, Crabbe, maybe Biggie and Nurk) and we are playing kind of crappily (outside of Dame and CJ and Ed) and letting you "value guys for what they bring to the team." Well, dude...:

Nicholson: 2.9M/yr for 6 years, waived.
Crabbe: no longer with us, paid to receive nothing in return
Vonleh: no longer with us, paid to receive nothing in return (though at least we didn't get a "dead cap" bone job)
Meyers: How's his development going, Neil?
Swanigan: How many other teams have their 1st-rounder in the G-League on someone else's team, Neil?
Layman: How's his development going?
Patty Ice: Finally developing in Year 3, just in time to get RFA'd. What's your idea of his value this summer?
Nurk: Are we stoked about his development, Neil, or does it look like he's doing a multimillion-dollar regression in a contract year?

Wins: Chief is playing about as well as we could expect, Ed is doing what we brought him to do, Dame and CJ are Dame and CJ. Shabazz is a pleasant surprise.

tl;dr: GTFO.

I unliked this so I could like it a 2nd time.

Fire him, AFTER the draft. I still like him, over a new guy, in that limited capacity.

Last time we did something like that, we ended up with Luke Babbitt, Elliot Williams and Armon Johnson as the Fuck You parting gift. No thanks. If you're moving on, dump his ass now, not with him knowing he's about to get canned, and fucks us.
