And if i ever hear from Woj or anyone else again that "PORtlaND wAs sO CLosE" to get a star i'm coming to Portland and punch Olshey in his snake oil face. I don't wanna hear that shit anymore
Hey…HEY!!!!
You leave the miracle of snake oil out of this!

I was one of the 20 B+ votes but that being said I was still complaining about not having moved CJ as I have been for like half a fucking decade. I just thought that RoCo and DJ were good moves... which I still do. I didn't really put together how bad of an idea that Kanter and Melo being on the bench together was. I also thought we'd use Melo as instant offense not a heavy rotation player. I also didn't take into account Terry's inflexibility when judging the DJ signing.

If Stotts uses DJ correctly, if we never played Kanter and Melo together because Melo was getting limited minutes, if Zach was back by mid January so he took all of those minutes away from both Melo and Kanter... then I think the B+ would have been a good grade.

I overestimated Stotts even though I already wanted him fired. I didn't know that one of the team goals was to protect Melo's legacy. I believed the Zach timetable.

Fire him yesterday. His year one pick of Dame seems to have been pure luck as he's been as right as a broken clock in a 12 hour span. Given how badly he's misused resources, at 31 Dame should be dealt... I just don't trust Neil to do it.

Obviously I'd support most any change, but how bout Channing for GM?

i just realized Philly hired Doc Rivers before they brought Morey on last year. Maybe still in the cards that Neil gets ousted.

I don't really think that is likely. I was hopeful but as people in here have pointed out and many journalists have, Olshey has done what he's done with the Vulcans and it's hard for them to separate themselves from that. If CJ doesn't get traded and that results in Norm walking maybe Dame goes to ownership and that gets Olshey fired but I just don't see that either because if Olshey blows it that bad then there really will be no way for the team to get better than they were and Dame will demand a trade by the deadline.

The only way I see Olshey getting fired before the season starts is if the Vulcans decide that he fucked up this off season so badly that they want to hire someone else to immediately come in and trade everyone, including Dame and start a rebuild from the ground up with Chauncey as the head coach.

The best way to build a team, ESPECIALLY when top FA wont sign here, is through the draft and for whatever reason this is when Neil is the least aggressive during the off season.

5 years later and it’s the same song with Neil.

Saw this browsing Blazer Twitter….

Neil Purgatory sucked the joy out of this fanbase :drinkapint:

Whatever. If i win some money, so i can move back to my Native City, i'll take them in a heartbeat. Blazer Love forever.

I moved to Denver in 1994. So called Bronco fans in the South Stands of old Mile High were raining batteries and other BS at Wade Phillips Head Coach. Bush League moves. I put my name on the season ticket list as soon as i arrived, being a diehard Bronco Fan from Portland. They called me the next spring to say i have season tickets if i want them. Rest was history, got to see a AFC Championship game 4 years later in person, and we won back to back Super Bowls. The pain of failure, makes the Euphoria of winning it all, so much sweeter.

Do I have this correct:

We've used our last 6 1st round draft picks and an expiring contract to obtain Collins, Covington, Ant, and Little?

SIX 1st round draft picks for a starting role player, 2 deep rotation players, and a guy who's played 11 games in 2 seasons.

Just more proof that the mother fucker needs to go.

The only media guy to touch on this subject was Canzano.

Look at his 1st rounders outside CJ/Dame vs his second rounders - there’s a stark difference.

Blazer 2nd rounders almost always turn into rotation players with a few on the verge of getting near max money in Trent and Barton.

Elite second round drafters - horrific first round drafters.

its why i keep harping on the 2017 disaster as his biggest blunder. he had to hit on that as a borderline all star at least

I think Neil is in big trouble and won't be able to make big moves even if he wanted to. He probably will be able to resign Melo...
The only hope this team has is Billups.
