^I think it's a bit too early to put Kerr in the same sentence as Popovich and Carlisle.

In terms of career, sure. I definitely think he's proven to be a difference-maker, though.

meh, when you have legendary shooters, great defenders, great passers and a versatile bench you don't have to be a genius to say: "Alright guys, defend hard and then on the other end i want you to pass the rock until you find the open man who will shoot it. If there's no open man i want Draymond to push their guard out of Steph/Kaly's way so they can shoot the open three!"

He has proven to be a good coach, but he would've eaten shit in the dark if he took that Knicks job.

He has clearly lost the team. No point postponing the inevitable. How about an x-mas day firing? That's always super classy!

Do it AFTER they spend all their money on presents, but BEFORE Christmas. And AFTER you get their cards, but BEFORE you send them cards.

Just 17 months after winning a championship, no less. Of course, the team's franchise player wanted him gone.

Magic isn't smart. When Woj copied the Oregonian and ran an article against Paul Allen during the Sheed days, Magic, as a TNT guest announcer, read his script calling for Allen to go. He just says what he's told, or what he reads. A moron. Just remember that he last about 2 days as a head coach and never tried. Anyway, he was just blabbering what he was reading when he complained about the Laker coach.

Never mind, he got the job because McKinney was in a terrible bicycle accident. My bad.

If you believe the official story. His personality was paranoid. An intellectual. He was disliked by Laker management.

Our coaching staff is like the Yogananda foundation and the Spurs is like the Hell's Angels favorite clubhouse

It's conspiracy theories like that that would make you perfect for the Trump administration.

This fucking clown needs to go. I saw numerous things tonight that made it perfectly clear to me that this is a coaching issue.

Take the Spurs, for example. I know, I know....HOF Coach, all that stuff. Never mind that they have better skills at their starting 5 than we do. I get that.

BUT.....the organization with which they run their plays, and the consistency in which they make adjustments was stunningly clear.

You know who DOESN'T do that? Stotts.

Time outs? Nope. Changes? Nope. Fix something that clearly isn't working and adjust a play? Nope.

Even Dallas showed some kind of organization and consistency.

This is a COACHING issue. But I'll put lack of skill set right there at #2.

But if we fix the poor coaching, then that's half of the problem solved right there.

Fire Stotts. Now.

The tards over on BlazersEdge defend this moron and cum in their sweat pants whenever you mention his name. It makes me want to put a .40 S&W through my fucking screen.

When people say a coach has "lost the team", that means the coach has lost their respect and they're not even paying attention to him. And I don't think that is the case with Stotts at all.

Umm, yeah, I'm gonna have to STRONGLY disagree with you there Sinobas. Their body language is very telling when Stotts huddles with them. To me, that speaks volumes.

They can fire Stotts and I doubt their record changes one iota, but it probably isn't going to hurt them either.

Somebody probably has to be held accountable and since GMs don't usually fire themselves, and it's tough to get rid of players on guaranteed contracts, Stotts seems the likeliest choice.

I've only ever heard that he's a "players" coach and that players really like him.

I think Stotts has been dealt a shit deck. I also think he could coach a better defense, but I wouldn't can him yet. Olshey totally bombed this offseason.

I think the players still like him just fine. There certainly hasn't been any rumblings that have leaked out to the media.

If anything, I think Damian's comments about the rest of the team's lack of heart and fire is probably the closest thing to a diagnosis we're going to get.

Jim Tomsula was a "players coach", and everyone supposedly loved the guy.

Yet....the 9ers still went 5-11.

Well, this roster simply doesn't have many ballers. Who on the team really has heart? Damian and Plumlee. That's it. The rest of the team is soft.

Damian is also a pretty atrocious defender. It's tough to have your best player be so bad on D, becuase it rings a little hollow when he tries to call others out for their deficiencies at that end.

I don't think Stotts is irreplaceable, so I'm not dead-set against firing him, but the problems with this roster go to the bone. Olshey is the one who really is responsible for this shit-show.

I agree, firing Stotts won't accomplish anything. And let's not forget the positive things he's brought. Olshey got way too excited about the "cinderella season" wanked off to this roster which wasn't even close to being ready.

Dude, a lot of this is on Stotts

I wish that he had arranged to go out to dinner with Popovich and asked him for advice. I think Popovich would have tried to help him.

Hah, yeah right. Pop would have ordered an expensive bottle of wine and stuck Terry with the check.

BNM

@BonesJones what coach would you like to see replace him? I wanted Lionel Hollins, before we got Stotts, but maybe a current assistant or a college coach? Ala Brad Stevens?
