This is the first year in a long time I can remember where I have literally liked all the players on the team. Some of them are not good basketball players, and some have super limitations on one end of the floor, but this team is really easy to root hard for because all of the players give 100% every time they step out on the floor. Maybe it was a simple case of low expectations, but I have enjoyed watching this year more than any in the past I can remember.

Here here! Although there is rarely "hatred" I really do enjoy this bunch

It has definitely been a very entertaining season so far.

Last season was a nightmare. I don't think I've hated that many blazers in one season.

i have definitely caught my self hating nolan smith, but that's probably because every time he tried to be a point guard and failed miserably (and then bitched about it), I imagine manimal running the floor and making JJ leaving this summer a non-issue. then I hate Chad Buchanan.

In what I'm sure is purely a coincidence, this year in the first year in a long time where neither Maurice Cheeks nor Nate McMillan is the Head Coach.

Wait til after this road trip.

I definitely hate watching some guys play, but overall, this year has been a breath of fresh air compared to the parade of selfishness we were subjected to last year.

Oh Mags....... always the optimist.

High-energy group, close games win or lose, lots of rookies and new faces, new offense... lots of new stuff. Definitely makes for one of the best years in a while (definitely my favorite year since 2008-09, but with a fresh feeling more like 2007-08).

I don't see the Blazers having a chance to make the plyoffs, so overall this year hasn't been fun for me. Lillard is the bright spot, but once again in Blazer town the cry is wait till next year . . . which can't come fast enough for me.

I never "hate" a player, but there are some that I cringe when they come in. Like Maglorie, Fernandez, and this year there have been plenty of cruddy bench guys that I know will cause the Blazers to lose ground Nolan Smith, Ronnie Price, Joel Freeland...these guys literally bring nothing to the table, they just get their ass kicked on both ends.

I couldn't stand Crawchuck, Felton, Nate, Sheed, Damon, Bonzi...etc

Even though we won 54 in 08-09, the 07-08 was the most enjoyable season for me too. This season is comparable. All we need now is the 13 game win streak. Has anyone thrown a chair yet?

I find myself thinking this way about half of the time. I remind myself that making the playoffs in this league is really not hard to do - 16 out of 30 teams do by default. There was a time where we made the playoffs for what was it - 26 straight seasons? Our bar has been lowered.

Not to mention if you do make the playoffs the referee's (NBA) are in control of who wins anyway

Easy to lose sight of this. Nice post.

If Portland was still on that streak and was fielding the same lineup we have now, we'd all be mad as hell. We're not mad because of severely crushed expectations. That's what 12 years of Patternash, Stoudamire, Cheeks, Miles, Bonzi, Outlaw, Crawchuck, Sergio, DA, Webster, Ratliff, Rahim, Oden, Randolph and Rudy can do to you.

So much time, energy and enthusiasm wasted on such a long list of never-weres, has-beens and what-the-fucks. They drowned out what little our few good players over those years did for us.

I don't hate any of those disappointing players. Except Damon Stoudamire. I will always hate that guy.

I do hate Patternash and Mo Cheeks for their debilitating incompetence. I started hating McMillan toward the end, but I've cooled on that.

This current squad is an easy team to like. I just wish I was more excited about it.

Hate is a strong word.

You have spent a lot of time and energy being negative about Meyers Leonard, to the point where at times I thought you had morphed into a spam bot. Reading your posts, it is apparent you have spent a lot of time "not liking" Leonard.

Leonard is awesome. Goofy, affable, all kinds of fun to watch on the floor. I simply don't think he will be a very good player

With center Hickson setting the example as an Energy Bunny, even statue Aldridge is shamed into moving faster.

Why not condense it to, the post-Whitsitt years. We were rolling till he left.

Blanky's not here (which probably also led to a decrease in Quick's fart reportage), but iirc he kicked over a chair (after taking some MMA training over the summer).

Cheeks got us to the playoffs.
