For anyone thinking Israel is showing restraint and only targeting Hamas

LMAO. Paraphrase much? 99%??? Settle down, Nancy Grace.

Ummm, what? Israel & the U.S. just voted at the U.N. to NOT recognize Palestine with the right to exist so how can you ask for the same? By the way, those were the only two nations that voted on that. The rest of the world concurrently took a shit on that notion.

Thank you for demonstrating your ignorance. It's most appreciated.

Please, tell me what the PLO didn't get in the Oslo Accords?

You really shouldn't use the UN as the arbiter of all that is right and fair. The UN is the body allowing weapons to be stored in UN schools and hospitals. There are 54 Muslim-majority countries that are members of the UN and one Jewish one. Anti-semitism is alive and well in Europe and across much of the world. Gee, on which side will the UN fall? It's a mystery.

As for that vote, both Israel and the US simply require one tiny little factor to change their vote: That the Palestinians recognize Israel's right to exist. Is that requirement so unreasonable? Me thinks to the Palestinians it is.

Both Arafat & Abbas have recognized Israel as it's own entity. Again, you're mixing up Hamas with the rest of Palestine and its leaders.

It's very antisemitic to suggest Gaza should be receiving its fair share of water, food and prescription drugs. Totally antisemitic. So this is where Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson learned their skills from? Dwight Howard and Rihanna were also antisemitic for saying, "free Palestine." Sure.

Does the U.S. acknowledge the right to exist of the People's Republic of Donetsk?

Does Israel acknowledge Palestine's right to exist as a nation?

One definition of war might be that neither nation acknowledges the right of the other to exist, as presently constituted.

Let me know when the official government position of Palestine recognizes Israel's right to exist. In writing.

And exactly what is Gaza's "fair share"? You sound like you work for Al Jazeera.

If Hamas is as hated as Amiricon says it is, Israel is doing the Palestinians a favor by ridding those decent, blameless, doe-eyed, innocents of the evil Hamas.

They don't like Hamas but don't oppose the opposition. It's not like Abbas or Arafat did shit for them either.

I wish I worked for Al Jazeera. The only real news agency left. How quick do we forget that Israel supported Hamas at one point.

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas signaled on Saturday that he remains committed to troubled U.S.-backed peace talks, saying that any unity government agreed with the militant group Hamas would recognize Israel.

A senior PA official on Sunday told the London-based Al-Hayat newspaper that Abbas insists that Hamas does not need to recognize Israel or renounce terrorism, even after the unity pact with his Fatah movement.

The unnamed official told the newspaper about Abbas’s conversation with U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice, who visited the region last week.

During the conversation, Abbas reportedly told Rice that Hamas will not be a part of the new unity government, nor will that government include representatives of other Palestinian Arab organizations. Rather, the official said, it will be made up of independent professionals who are politically unaffiliated.

Abbas also reportedly told Rice that he will head the new unity government and that this government will adopt his political platform which renounces violence.

Hamas part continues to be adamant over its control of a "unity" government, expressing over and over again that it would remain in control of both Gaza and the PA-held areas after elections, and insisting that Ismail Haniyeh would rule the government.

Rice told Abbas during their meeting last Thursday that “any Palestinian government must unambiguously and explicitly commit to nonviolence, recognition of the State of Israel, and acceptance of previous agreements and obligations between the parties.”

Egypt’s former foreign minister, Amr Moussa, also said last week that Hamas must recognize the existence of Israel in order to make it possible to move forward with a Palestinian state.

(The Egyptian has it right)

pretty cut and dry.I dont understand where the confusion is.

No confusion. Just the worldwide alarm that Israel is killing people and destroying buildings at a 100 to 1 ratio of what the other side is doing to them. It's like a plantation slave revolt vs. the National Guard...while yapping about wording of the peace document which everyone knows will bring no peace.

About 65 years of this now and Israel has worked it up to a 100 to 1. I bet the get up to 200 to 1
in just a few more years of this. They are learning at a rapid rate with all the practice they are offered.

You will agree, Marzul, that if Americans lose their guns, this is how the U.S. government will treat us. A new slaughter every 3-4 years.

But you'll say to the underdog side, give up, you can't win, judging by your stance on Israel.

Who owns Al Jazeera? And who does that government strongly support? Thanks for playing.

I know your questions were rhetorical, but I'll answer anyhow.

Qatar owns Al Jazeera. It's a state-run network, much as Pravda in the old USSR.

Qatar literally helps fund Hamas. Hope that helps!

Or BBC in Britain or PBS here. But you want to make it sound Communist, so go right ahead.

Israel vs. the captive Arabs is like shooting ducks. No challenge. No equivalence, as Israel pretends. We all know that nothing's going to change.

I wish Hamas would stop bombing UN shelters!

troll much? You are smart enough to realize that Hamas is using the deaths of innocent people as a pr tactic. They fire from UN schools where they are storing arms. They are very aware that Israel will return fire, and Hamas counts on a body count to make Israel look like the bad guy.

Want an end to violence? Stop tunneling into Israel, stop lobbing rockets, stop denying Israel the right to exist.

Read the Hamas Charter!

Then you will find little reason to expect anyone to negotiate with these people. It is pointless.
But then it is not just Jews they want to eliminate. Everyone that will not submit to the rule of Islam. Read that as, We are next! Meaning the US population.

Article Eight: The Slogan of the Hamas
Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.

"Hamas has been looking forward to implement Allah’s promise whatever time it might take. The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!"

"There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and International Conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility."

You can not expect the Israels to make peace with these guys, can you?

"Jihad becomes a duty binding on all Muslims. In order to face the usurpation of Palestine by the Jews, we have no escape from raising the banner of Jihad. This would require the propagation of Islamic consciousness among the masses on all local, Arab and Islamic levels. We must spread the spirit of Jihad among the [Islamic] Umma, clash with the enemies and join the ranks of the Jihad fighters."

When I listen to many on this board and across the nation, it appears many "Umma" are joining the ranks of the Jihad, including our own President and his cabinet. I wonder if they have read the Hamas Charter? I know the President has read the "Beautiful Qur'an" as he calls it. Remember the Qur'an is to be your new Constitution. I doubt the Jews will accept it but I am not so sure about many of my countrymen.

Here is the essence of why this war continues for 66 years now, with no end in sight. No President has been able to change the situation, and I don't see any possibility of a future President doing any different. The current status must be endured for as long as you can predict or the final battle must begin and won before and end will come.

" For our struggle against the Jews is extremely wide-ranging and grave, so much so that it will need all the loyal efforts we can wield, to be followed by further steps and reinforced by successive battalions from the multifarious Arab and Islamic world, until the enemies are defeated and Allah’s victory prevails. Thus we shall perceive them approaching in the horizon, and this will be known before long: “Allah has decreed: Lo! I very shall conquer, I and my messenger, lo! Allah is strong, almighty.”"

Big mistake for the Israels to have given up Gaza to these people.
Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them), this is Hamas, the PLO, and Islam.

You call anyone who disagrees with you a troll, then you make up a story that the UN school deserved it. I don't have the energy to argue with the board's Jews, so you guys will win the thread, but you won't win world opinion. It's obvious to everyone except you guys that bombing hundreds of homes, businesses, hospitals, and schools, killing 800 civilians so far, is no remedy for Hamas missiles and tunnels.

On this, we agree. I think Israel's response to the attacks is very weak.
But don't get confused, I am no Jew.

What do you think of my comparison of Israel doing whatever it wants to its Arabs, to how the U.S. government might behave to a disarmed U.S. population?

bullshit

I did not "make up the story", that is how NPR reported it for the past week. Not Jewish, but that does not bother me..fine people. And yeah, it is a PR play, shoot rockets from a hospital , school etc and expect that return fire will be incoming, kill civilians..yadda yadda yadda

What the fuck do you really believe? These are more of these phantom "peaceful Muslims" pffft reality fucking check

So you depend on the NPR. Got a link? I have seen nothing about the UN allowing Arabs to turn its schools into military bases.

A couple of days ago, Israel killed 16 civilians, bombing a UN school. Today, Israel killed over 20, bombing another UN school. Ponder how many non-UN schools are getting bombed.
