Spurs last 3... @ Sac, @GS, hornets. they arent losing again.

We should beat Okc and Denver at home. Denver will be resting its starters.

Which means our biggest challenge is tonight. Clips are healthy minus thorton. This is a game that a team who is top 4 in the west wins. It will be a tough tough game. Im shocked camby came back and didnt shut it down. Zach will wanna kill us like always so this game is gonna be scary.

Does Denver own the tie breaker with Houston? If not, they won't be resting their starters.

Every game definitely matters at this point. Houston has to play two games against playoff teams, but even if they split those, Portland by losing one loses out to them because of the tie breaker. I'm hoping that Golden State can steal a home game against the Spurs since they've had decent luck in their own building.

Houston won their series 3-1. But if Houston loses once, and Denver beats Sacramento, then it's over. They have it over the Spurs and the Blazers already.

Yes, we have to win our last 3 to get HCA, which is possible. But if we do lose 1, I suppose we can pray for either GS (at Golden State is one of the toughest places to play, especially if they are healthy with Ellis and all them) or vs the Hornets (who play well vs the Spurs... they won 3 games on them last year during the reg. season and took them to game 7 of the 2nd round) to win a game vs them. I think its somewhat probably that SA will lose a game vs GS/NO. I may be going out on a limb there, though. If they did lose, we could most likely rest our starters vs Denver, no? That would be nice...

But yeah, if we control our own destiny for HCA, we simply got to take care of business.

Even if we don't get home court, I don't think that the Spurs are as scary to this team as they may have been in the past. Bring it on.

If Portland ended up with the 5th seed against someone like San Antonio, I think they would have a chance. Since 2000, 5th seeds have been 7-11 for a playoff series in the first round. If it were Houston, it would be much more difficult.

We need to run the table, and we need Houston or San Antonio to lose at least one game to get HCA. If we all finish tied, we don't get HCA.

Zach isn't playing.

if we finish with a tie breaker with the spurs.... we get home court

Is it just me or did anyone else feel like Oden wasn't being as aggressive on defense last night so he could avoid getting in foul trouble?

We have the tie breaker on San Antonio. We would be at home to start the series vs them if we both win out.

Division winners get the top priority in this case, so if Houston, SA and us all finish tied, the Spurs have the edge over Houston for the division title so they get the No. 3 seed.

That drops the tiebreaker between us and Houston. The Rockets own the tiebreaker over us so they get the No. 4 seed and HCA.

So that's why if we run the table, we need Houston or SA to drop a game.

Must win tonight and I agree it's not going to be a cakewalk. Clips have nothing to lose. We have everything to lose.

we will run the table if we beat the clippers tonight.

denver most likely will rest their players. okc has no chance monday.

I don't think Denver will rest their players if it means the division. If the NW Division is on the line, it's going to be a dogfight. Period.

It doesn't matter if Denver rests their players or not. We're better than they are. We're not the same team we were the last time we played them. They won't be able to bully us.

I would be pretty furious if we ended with 54 wins and that didn't net us HCA

Definitely agree. At least once he gave an open layup as the shotclock sounded rather than challenge/foul.

Which it's OK. He can pick and choose his spots.

come on sacramento! we need you in like 3 different games

This is an obvious answer. If you are saying it is fact that San Antonio is going to win out, then yes we have to win. If it is not a fact that they will win out (reality), then we do not have to.

It's not that hard to figure out and I don't see what there is to debate about. We know that bad NBA can beat good ones, but we also know the better team wins more often. Not rocket science here...

Thanks for taking time to explain this. YOu are correct. That little part about San Antonio would win the division didn't register with me. That would be painful.
