Wow, should’ve just retired a spur... he doesn’t have much left to give.
Why do people say "so and so should've retired" or "so and so has been hurt so much he should just give up"?

It's Tony's decision if he still wants to play and if he wants to accept a deal from another team.

Not to mention the fact that it's yet again the Pacers appearing to make a good move. Adding Tyreke and O'Quinn to a squad that was already challenging for the 3 seed in the east all year, plus potential further growth from Sabonis and their picks from last year--wouldn't surprise me to see them in the conference finals.

Collison/Joseph
Oladipo/
Evans/Bogdanovic
Sabonis/T. Young
Turner/OQuinn

They’ve been amazing in the market for sure. Last year too - Collison, Bogdanovic and Joseph were all steals.

Have to keep reminding myself that I still hate KP. But he's building a great roster.
The roster is really solid but I don't see a super high ceiling with that team. Next summer Collison, Bogdanovic, Joseph, Turner, Evans, Young, and O'Quinn are all free agents, that's 7 of the 9 guys on that depth chart mentioned.

I still believe they are going too far to be decent right now instead of setting up their future.

I like the signings. A small market team doing what they can to be relatively competitive, give their fans a decent product to watch.

At the same time, I feel like if it was us making these signings, there'd be a why bother, it doesn't make us title contenders, comments about being on a treadmill, etc.

That is exactly my point. Turner regressed last year. Sabonis seems pretty solid but not star level. Leaf doesn't look like he has too much promise (still young though). Holiday could be a solid pick this year but you'd think a team like that would be signing more younger guys who could still develop instead of solid veterans.

They'll certainly keep Turner. And they have Joe Young, TJ Leaf, Aaron Holiday, and Ike Anigbogu all waiting in the wings to step in and fill spots vacated by departing free agents. Crap--also forgot about Doug McDermott. Well, nobody bats 1.000...

In any case, next summer they're looking at $60M in cap space. If they perform well this season, they're going to get a lot of looks in free agency.

They let Joe Young go. Leaf I haven't been impressed with, especially defensively. Anigbogu is non-guaranteed, I'm not sure if they are keeping him or not. Holiday looks pretty good in this summer league game right now though. If he's good enough to start in Collison's spot next year it does help a little bit.

neil again with the 'floor spacing' shit at the curry/steaksauce intro

Nate never trusts rookies..he'll always play his starters into the ground..

or the Blazers are just mediocre and should just blow it up?

Didn't realize that. Those @$$#0%&$!!
I'm not just saying this because I'm a Blazers fan and I realize that I'm likely on an island given how awesome of a year Oladipo had, but I still would've traded George for draft picks and started over. I'm not just using hindsight either because I said this on the day of the 2017 draft before Donovan Mitchell became a star.

I would've traded George to the Blazers for Harkless, Davis, Napier, and our 3 picks in 2017. With picks 15, 18, 20, and 26 they would have had all kinds of possibilities. At the very minimum they could've done the same trade we did to move up to 10 (15 and 20) to get Mitchell. At 18 they could've taken John Collins and at 26 they could've taken Kyle Kuzma or whoever was still available. A core moving forward of Myles Turner, Donovan Mitchell, John Collins, and Kyle Kuzma with even more cap space (Harkless is way less than Oladip0) seems to me like a better long term plan. They also I believe could've taken Zach at 10 like we did and traded 18 and 26 (and maybe something else) to Denver for 13 and still gotten Mitchell. Denver traded 13 for pick 24 and Trey Lyles so I think that the Pacers could've beaten that offer. Then your core would be Mitchell, Zach Collins, and Myles Turner which is also pretty good I think. Obviously they wouldn't have been as good last year but then they would've likely had another lottery pick right now to add to that core instead of the 23rd pick.

Like I said, I know I'm pretty much alone here but that's what I would've done with Paul George. Now they are doubling down by signing vets.

20M a year for THAT dude......the fuck outta' here FAMS!
It's the Bulls...everybody is getting the fuck out of there..half the coaching staff and roster of the Wolves did just that

I would've been happy with Herzonja... Upside at a position of need that could help right away... Other than that, no.

I want Tyreke Evans for the Full MLE. That would justify letting Davis walk.
Nothing will justify letting Davis walk.

He could be an allstar in the eastern conference and he could start...his next payday won't come cheap after this one year deal..I look at him like Mason Plumlee...I'm sure Ed wants to start at some point in his career and he could do that with the Nets
