Reading that profile makes me wonder (again) what is wrong with Stauskus that he has been unable to carve out a useful niche in the NBA. *On paper* he makes sense for the Blazers. In reality, his career is on life-support.

I don't remember him in college, but it makes it sound as if he was largely a "system" player, stepping into the vacancy left by another underwhelming system player. It's like Duke for the longest time, cranking out top collegians that didn't have much impact as pros.

The Stauskus deal was a bit of a head scratcher to me, but this was interesting from his draftexpress profile:

Maybe they are more interested in shooters who can run the PnR, than just one-dimensional shooters.
I get it. The important part of your quote is that he's Canadian. So.... he counts as TWO white guys. I see what Neil's doing now :)

$18million a year is a fair deal for Capela. He’s very good.

The baseball player signed with the Bucks...

Bucks are just looking to bring shooters to surround Giannis with. Pat has a good shot, he won’t require big minutes and he’s cheap and there aren’t many good players available in the free agency anymore.

I think Pat will play the Dellevadova role for the Bucks...defensive pest who won't need to shoot much

He and the Greek freak can out jump any tandem in the NBA.

I still like the idea of Kofous and a second or two for Turner and our 2019 1st.

Attach Swanigan to Meyers with a second if needed at the draft to a team with cap space, and we have $14M in cap space.

Signing Tyreke would be awesome. It would give us multiple options. #1 - Bring back Aminu with the room exception and boom:

Lillard (36) / McCollum (12)
McCollum (24) / Evans (12) / Trent (12)
Evans (20) / Harkless (20) / Trent (8)
Aminu (30) / Harkless (10) / Collins (8)
Nurkic (30) / Collins (18)

OR

Trade McCollum and Nurkic for 3 firsts and enough cap space to sign Cousins. Still bring back Aminu with remaining space, and sign Curry to the Room Exception.

Lillard (36) / Evans (12)
Evans (18) / Curry (30)
Harkless (22) / Trent (20) / Evans (6)
Aminu (30) / Harkless (10) / Collins (8)
Cousins (30) / Collins (18)

That team plus two or three firsts is a great situation.

Who woulda thought that guys like Connaughton, Napier, Vonleh, and Stauskas would get contracts (albeit the minimum), but Jahlil Okafor remains without a job? Dude put up 18/8 his rookie year as a 19 yr old.

Meyers can shoot the three ball.
