Yeah, It could certainly happen. This just seems like a good balance of a reasonable amount of precautions without making it seem scary. It's been very well done.

I'm not overly worried about a person capable of physically overpowering a teacher and planning a way to attack the school that way. If they have that amount of mental capability and motivation it's going to be next to impossible to stop them from causing some damage. A person that motivated would have no trouble coming up with a deadly weapon regardless of gun laws.

We're going to have to deal with guys like the DC sniper and the Vegas Millionaire committing horrible acts every now and then.
It's unfortunate, but until we make greater social advances it's an unfortunate reality.

By blocking closure. It used to be standard, senate debates, then votes cloture to end debate and move to vote. Takes 60 votes. Moscow Mitch blocks every cloture vote. So even if a bill has enough votes to pass it can't be voted on.
