When the most popular gun becomes the civilian version of the new XM5 the Army is switching to you'll understand what I mean, and why outlawing the AR makes no sense.

The typical AR has about half the impact force of most hunting rifles.

It's great for shooting small game if you don't have to do a lot of walking, and awesome for target shooting since you're stationary and the rounds are small.

A handgun would be far more deadly in a school shooting, and an XM5 (or even semi auto 30-06 like the M1 Garand) would be unspeakably devastating.

Outlaw the AR15 and that's what will likely take it's place. Carnage on a whole new level. Watch the video I posted above with the watermelons to understand what I mean.

It's critical we start identifying these troubled people much sooner and eliminating the risk.

Because it would be illegal to sell the military version with select fire fully auto capability.

The civilian version is modified to meet standard rifle laws. So they are just hunting rifles that look like military rifles.

The NRA only spends about $5 million per year in lobbying... I don't think it's the financial force people think it is. That's a drop in the bucket.

What they count as lobbying money is irrelevant. So its $5M or whatever.
The amount they spend direct to Politicians, to super-PACs, etc., to push their agenda is far far more than $5M. Mitt got $13M from them himself. The money IS a problem. If the NRA didnt give money away....half these politicians would tell them to F off

But many millions of Americans still agree with the 2nd ammendment. And in order to change it you'll need a constitutional convention wath a 2/3 majority or a very liberal Supreme Court.

If there was ever anyone I would want armed in a school shooting situation it would be him, and even he says there is no place for guns in a school. And they are actually incredibly useful for their intended purpose, which is for target shooting and hunting small animals.
