Good point. And they didn't realize they were riding the bomb...

That too.

The passengers in the flight over Pennsylvania did. They sacrificed themselves to save alot of people. It's a shame it had to come to that. Better security would have likely thwarted the terrorists before they ever boarded that plane.

3D printers are not that common. It's not something most people have access to.

Damn, some of those guns shops are right next to others.
Yeah, you can buy a 3d printer (Ender 3 is $189.00) and enough filiment to make an AR for less than you can buy an AR.

The 2nd ammendment gets in the way here. There is no right to alcohol... And 18 year olds are considered legal adults...
2A has a purpose and it is an important one. I understand that. Those god damned framers really screwed us on that one, because something needs to be fixed for today's society.

I'm not suggesting giving up though. I'm suggesting getting something done that could actually help before the next time a classroom full of grade schoolers is gunned down...

There's not the political will to do any of the things you propose as alternatives to gun control, either.

Exactly my point. I'm half tempted to try and see how hard it is to print a 3d gun, because I bet it's a lot more difficult that filling out the the paperwork to grab a glock at a pawn shop.

I'd prefer a gun having to wait until your 25.

It's costly. The price of the printer and the plastic filament is not cheap.

Also yeah 25 would be better. It gives young people enough time to mature.

Pizzagate believers.

Republicans downplaying the victims like this because they’re not white.

The thing is the founders could never in their greatest dreams or nightmares have visualized today's society.

Well, actually the Supreme Court screwed us in recent decades with bullshit interpretations of the 2nd.

Also, I'd say the bill of rights authors were more like handymen than framers. The constitution itself is the frame, the amendments are renovations.

The house is pretty out-of-date and needs a little TLC. Let's get rid of the orange shag carpeting in the bathroom.

It's not as easy as printing a photo, but if you know how to 3d print it's not overly difficult either.

And if people were willing to spend $1000 for one on the black market it could be worth doing for a profit...

And you would probably end up with something that doesn't work. Most printers that would make a gun worthy of shooting would be more expensive. Even then it would probably break after a single shot. Most of those don't get multiple shots.

The intelligence to complete that is something I don't think these mass killers have though. The buffulo guy maybe, he was on the planning scale of Christchurch and 2011 Norway, but most aren't that smart. Those psychos were on the level of ISIS.

Sandyhook and Uvalde would have never happened if they only had the option of 3d printed weapons. Money isn't really the problem here, it's access.

The assault rifle ban correlated with significant drop in murders. When Republican controlled senate allowed it to expire murder rate went back up.

especially since that carpet was originally white

But if there wasn't legal access you'd then get a black market... So then you're doing gun buybacks etc, trying to get all of the black market guns. If that were somehow successful enough to to get the mass market guns out of the black market you'd start getting home made guns from garage machine shops and other means, including 3d printing.

These are not traceable...

How do you prevent a kid from killing his mom, taking her keys, and raiding her gun safe?
Isn't that what Adam Lanza did?

You're quite a ways behind. They are running hundreds of rounds through these now...

And the Ender 3 is one of the printers they suggest for making gun parts actually. It makes very good prints.

We need to harden our moms. Bullet proof vests and helmets at all times (may need to develop a tactical nursing vest?). Moms should be armed and vigilant, and trained to shoot first and ask questions later.

Finally, and most important, the other kids in the family need to be heavily armed at all times. Remember, the best way to stop a bad kid with a gun is a good kid with a gun.

I think you're probably right.

That woman was obviously a terrible mother, may she rest in peace? I don't know, I wish I had an answer to that question. Do you think her having guns (and allowing her mentally ill son trained to use them) should be a protected right? I question that but also don't know how to fix it.

Most kids dont have an angle grinder, know what one is, or would think of getting one.
Most kids don't kill their parents and shoot up schools... And there will be media that shows them how to get and use these things.

They will be on Netflix movies just like there are suicide movies etc...

Agreed. I'm torn on it. I think the only way would have been to have a better education and healthcare system to... Maybe even remove him from her custody.

Most of these cases are really bad parenting...
