Land of the free?

While politics gets in the way of doing what is right, we as citizens barely have hope that even small progress can be made.

Land of the free?

Easily accessible guns, because… freedom. While we live in fear of being on the wrong side of gun violence.

Churches, hospitals, schools. Safe nowhere. The prayers, do people really think it means anything? Thoughts? Thanks for …thinking of me? Politicians are there to pray to the big sky character and think of me? Cool cool.

I don't think it's necessary to target anybody in particular... Except those who have violent history and meet the definition the two doctors in Shaboid's link suggested.

It's not hard to find these people before they commit these acts. We just need to decide to do it.

I don't live in fear of being on the wrong side of gun violence. If you're living in fear of that you haven't looked at the numbers.

It's very unlikely to happen. So incredibly unlikely. You're far more likely to be struck by lightning.

Be prepared, for sure. But don't be afraid. Being afraid is how you get tricked into making poor decisions.

Japan and Germany were disarmed after WWII.....turned out pretty good for them turning swords into plowshears...they retooled modern factories instead of building weapons and made out like bandits in the world market...only now do they feel the need to rebuild their armies so many decades later. building Toyotas and Benz instead of tanks and fighter jets.

there is when it's obvious those rights are being abused at the expense of the civilian population. I'll vote for that to happen tomorrow and feel safer for it ...as it is nobody here feels safe..

I understand you feel that way, but just because you would support it doesn't make it necessary. Or even possible.

We can stop these mass murders without stepping on people's rights.

no...your guns aren't solving the problem..and you need to open up your mind to what's possible..you keep talking about impossible change and being stepped on...I'd rather be stepped on than shot my friend and you don't put out fire with gasoline. Adding to the arms race is not stopping war either...takes a willingness to change

7 additional states just went permitless open carry in the last year... Guns have never been more popular. 20 million new guns sold last year alone. The Supreme Court is preparing to expand gun rights this year.

Gun ownership rates have increased over the last few years. Including among democrats.

Police are getting worse, and people know they can't count on them to help.

I don't think things are trending the way you have convinced yourself they are...

It is currently the safest time to be alive in the history of the world... So it's actually working out quite well.

We just have some social improvements to make... It's very doable.

It's the most dangerous time in the America to go to school, the hospital, a church, Walmart or a movie theater....I grew up in a safer america for unarmed civilians and children than we have today and it's not close...I went to public school, military school and college and nobody EVER talked about arming teachers....yeah..I'm not buying that at all. I have my truth about what arms are doing to humanity and it's nothing good period. You're not convincing me so we're at an impasse here

No...I know what gun lobbies print...there's a reason you can find a billion justifications for gun ownership....I used to broadcast and monitor Nixon propoganda in the war...I know how those things get out there. Violent crime rates aren't mass shootings of children and shoppers and innocent people.....organized crime and etc are not what we're talking about here...gang wars are not the stat I'm concerned about...it's the random mass shootings that are happening like never before in this country...and still ....if they took the guns out of the equation in the 90s we'd all be safer today....use common sense, not gun lobby propoganda..
