If we had traded for Melo over the summer, what do you think our record would be like?

He played MUCH smarter tonight than he has all season.

I am guessing it is because Nurk s playing netter. Dame will pass if he has someone to pass to

Any correlation with Nurk steppin up at the same time aminu got hurt?

Trying to always get better. 21 turnover is too many whether a team wins or not. Good win but you always look for ways to improve. Less turnovers, more bench production, better ball security in the last two minutes. Just part of the game.

I'd laugh too if Harkless was doing anything. Since he is doing very little, why not give it a shot like Pops does in SA? He gets contributions from everyone because he plays them all and not just in garbage time. Surprise....surprise, they end up all being able to contribute.

Well it's still early, but if Harkless keeps playing like this it'll force Stotts hand. It's not like he's against playing young guys. I'm just not sure what he thinks of Layman right now.

I really like Vonleh at the 4 he’s too good defensively and with rebounding next to Nurk. Their a perfect match.

We just need to upgrade the starting 3 position now. Harkless is no way an nba starter in this league. He’s at most 15 min a night off the bench.

BTW, I don't think I agree with a flagrant 2 call on Melo. I can see offensive or maybe flagrant 1 because of the direction he jumped and leading with the elbow.

But with that said I will take whatever we can get and any win we get. I would have been pissed if we lost this game because of Felton by the way.

Me too. That was a flagrant 1 at most.

Blazers were up I think 11 at that point anyways but that was a dumb call

I would just like to give a shout out to Stotts and his ability to draw up really amazing inbounds plays out of timeouts. It's one of his strongest attributes. That one where we give the ball to OKC, then knock it out of their hands to get it to Dame takes balls.

Now THAT is how a PG plays an effective game.
Beautiful, smart & controlled game from Dame - looking to get others involved with his passing first and hardly any forced shots.
When he's not forcing it, he makes it look so easy. This is the way he should look to play all of the time.

Friggin loved Nurks SMASH blocks on Westbrick & also Westbricks meltdown was an instant Classic !

While the opposing coaches are playing chess, Stotts is playing backgammon!

Those were monster spikes; it makes me think Nurk would be a helluva volleyball player.

The Blazers should dedicate a practice to defending last second 3s, and also to handling the ball under intense pressure.
Or just practice making good passes; I thought a lot of their turnovers were unforced.

Great win tonight! Blazers are so much better of a team when they feed Nurk early... I hope Dame and CJ are starting to realize that. On the Melo foul... how can anyone say that was not a flagrant?! He threw his elbow away from the basket... clearly not a natural basketball move.

It’s fucked up so far that bullshit flagrant 2 they called on Melo is being dominated in the national press coverage and not Dame’s big night

@Strenuus .....that is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Holy crap....I can't stop laughing. Where do these people come up with this stuff?

Stotts's equal opportunity bullshit offense has been figured out. Everyone knows that the Blazers really just want to get a shot for CJ, Dame or Nurk no matter how many flare screens they run off the ball.

The only time in the last few games our offense has looked good is when they have run the Dame/Nurk pick and roll. Makes me wonder why they don't just run it on literally every play possible.

I forgot flagrant 2 was an ejection, kept mistaking it for flagrant 1. Either way melo would of been ejected whether it was a technical or flagrant. I don’t think it was a flagrant 2, I would just call it a flagrant. I think it was pretty obvious on that same play melo got hit in the eye or something, that’s when he decided to drive to the hoop and get the call. The issue is, he tried too hard to make contact. He basically purposely collided with nurkic and ended up elbowing him in the face, I saw a flagrant when the replay was slowed down but not initially.

I just saw it a few days ago and I literally fell out of my bed laughing so hard. when he's leaned back and looking skyward and with the commentary, i lost my shit.

I recommend watching the soccer one as well. There's one part in there that gave me the same reaction. I hadnt laughed that hard in years.

Melo literally went out of his way to draw contact with Nurk. He had a lane to the basket and didn't take it. Don't see the outrage with the refs. Look at the shot Melo ended up with. He wasn't even facing the basket.

What happen he lead with his elbow was it on purpose I wouldn't really no.

It wasn't a natural basketball motion. He had the easy layup but purposefully swung his elbow into Nurkic's face. He ended up letting go off the ball not even facing the basketball.

The shot was a total afterthought. He went out of his way to elbow Nurk in the face. It was a dominance move meant to get under our skin, and without Nurk selling the hit like it was Monday Night RAW, it might have worked; the ref originally called a blocking foul.
