It's not just turnovers, it's the unforced turnovers. It's like we can't get out of our own way.

I'm not against the Dame/CJ guard combo, but is that a result of that type of offense?

Whoa. Surprised that call went our way, but I think they might've gotten it right. Nurk was going to go past without contact until Millsap's arm went sideways after the shot.
Definitely. He tried to do the leg kick trick with his arm to draw the foul, and it backfired.

CJ could play well with scrubs because he's a ball dominant scorer, and could display his talent no matter what the situation.

Collins isn't someone you throw the ball into yet. When he plays in garbage time, that's what happens. He is someone that would play better off of the starting lineup. He and CJ are talented on different ways.

Collins is also 19, CJ was 22 his rookie year.

Collins isn't "MILES away from cracking the rotation". He's already a good defender, and all he needs is more strength to be a rotation player. Combine that with improvements in other areas and you have a good all-around player.

Some of your arguments are somewhat ridiculous. CJ could play well because he was and is a good player. Doesn't matter who he plays with or against. And he started really showing out when he got into the starting lineup, so that whole argument just seems silly. He had the skills before he stepped foot in this league.

Collins on the other hand doesn't play well because he's simply not ready for this league in multiple ways. Put him with scrubs and he can't dominate because they push him around and he's weak and awkward with the ball. I know he's 19. That's my issue. He should have stayed in school. You think he'd do better in the starting lineup? LOL. If you put Collins in the starting lineup right now teams will feast on him worse than they do Meyers Leonard. His post defense is terrible and he's not a threat on offense unless you just leave him wide open. However I will say that unlike Meyers he does seem to have a feel for the game, so there's at least some hope for him. The question is how long are we willing to wait in the event that he ever puts it all together? I just hope it's not 5-6 years.

Millsap looked like a different guy than I remember from his Atlanta days. He looked....old.

I've honestly never been that impressed by him. I mean, it's impressive he came from a small school and carved a place for himself in the league as a starting player, but I was never that in awe of him as a player.

Not just a starting player but an All Star

I remember him single handily beating us like a year or two ago. I don’t think he was ever a franchise player despite some all star appearances but he still looked better than he does now.

Do you not understand the difference between how surrounding teammates affects an iso scorer compared to a defensive big man who plays better off the ball (pick n roll/pop, spot ups, dives to the basket, etc.?) You only think it's ridiculous because you don't understand it.

He would look a lot better playing with starters, yes.

I knew Vonleh played well, but I didn't realize he was a basket away from a double double, plus 2 steals and a block.

And it wasn't just his stats either. Very impressed with his defensive awareness. He was quick with the help and equally quick to get back to his man. Terry needs to let him finish games, he is becoming our best defender IMO.

If it comes down to re-signing Vonleh or Ed, give me Vonleh. His defense is legit and there’s still an upside offensively. Davis doesn’t really do anything better than him except maybe rebounding, but Vonleh is dope in that department as well.

He played a great game tonight.

I really like Noah. My biggest complaint about him is #1) He never looks to shoot himself and #2) He initiates the switch on D too often where he ends up guarding a G.

Tonight he actually took some shots, and he didn't get stuck guarding a G without good reason.

Well done. Could be one of his best games

Vonleh has always been a great defender and rebounder. When he’s switched on a wing player and shit even point guards sometimes, he always does respectably well.

Only problem with Vonleh is he’s too shy. He lacks confidence in his offensive game and should demonstrate his mid range open jumper much more.

Was tonight the first game that Dame and CJ both sat at the same time? The second unit actually did work without CJ. I want to see more Napier and less Connaughton. Napier can play and keeps CJ away from running the point.

Certainly can't remember both sitting except in garbage time of the first two games.

Nurkic flopped a bunch tonight... I'm really getting sick of seeing it... That offensive foul on Millsap was complete bullshit. The foul when he swatted Nurk was a bullshit call too.

This. Great move by Stotts.

I watched the game now, surprisingly good game from us, could be better from Dame and CJ but it was ok. Our defense was really really good, to hold Denver at 82. But can somebody tell me why Dame and CJ was BOTH on the bench? I tought 48 min one of them are on the court. This time it worked, but i don't know if this can be for forever. And btw caleb plays fantastic for a 26th pick with the starting line up

Gotta give credit where credit is due: Stotts coached a good game. He had the team ready to play, and we got a convincing win versus a good team. Defense continues to look top tier. That feels nice!

I wonder how much of our offensive woes are stemming from the fact that Lillard has been awful from 3 (31%)? Hopefully he can pick it up and we can go on a run. Good game tonight!

Ok, maybe this is a silly question but how do we get The People's Champ back?

Dame offense fell off this year but his defense has been really good. He’s improved a lot nobody can deny that

Don't say "this year" because that's a totality, when we're 13 games into the season. "so far" is a much better qualifier, and to that I agree.

He's on our team and he annoys the fuck out of me sometimes. He needs to quit the fucking flopping (READ THIS PART @BigGameDamian , it debunks one of your theories) and finesse his damn shots more consistenly. He does it for parts of games but he gets too careless around the rim and with his passes.

Glad he's on the team, but play the damn game with some integrity.

I'm less concerned about Dame than I am about Nurk's Defense in the paint. I just saw a play in the highlights where he got bullied on a drive....by Will Barton.

That's pathetic. And unfortunately, it's been that way every game this season thus far. Sure, he makes some great plays sometimes, but most of the time he's slow to pick some things up, and he either just stands there, or looks around to see who else is gonna pick up for him.

That really concerns me.
