After the last 4 seasons nobody, I repeat nobody is allowed to critique a WIN in any way possible. Foolish if you do.
I have always said it's not diving or gymnastics. No style points in basketball. All you need is one more point than the other team.

I feel when we don’t have a backup center soon at all, you will realize we would be better off being able to throw DA out there than our options. Also, I believe we have already missed Ant’s ability to hit a huge shot in crunch time in 2 of our games. We will see differently on this obviously, just my opinion.
I know,

But regardless that “if you have more talent it makes the coach look good” comment doesn't make sense.

Right now thru these 6 games, we have the same team as last year minus and plus these guys :

Out: Ant - Ayton - Scoot (INJ)

Added : Jrue, Blake, Yang, Caleb.

We have less talent right now, point blank.

I'd argue that Grant, Murray, Thybulle and Timelord and Clingan all are upgrades this season as well as possibly Scoot when he gets back and Sharpe defensively. Also our coaching staff..we were tanking the vets to the point of boredom for 4 years.

We are a better team this year with more talent because there have been many visible improvements in several players who were on the roster laster year for starters. Ant and Ayton had negative net value. Jrue is a huge upgrade from Ant.
We are a better, more talented roster than last year.

Oh, so you are saying that in sports, talent doesn’t win out 99% time?

These arguments are symptoms of this being a prove-it season for the team. Either you think they belong and are proving it (and so already view them as more talented than the teams they've beaten) or you think this is their year to prove it to you (and so don't believe they're more talented than the teams they've beaten). The facts are the same either way: They are beating talented teams, and either must be more talented or more lucky. Hell you two may be agreeing very loudly because of this difference in viewpoint.

Nothing to contribute I just find your argument fascinating, anthropologically speaking..

But wait, weren’t you saying things about us getting rid of Ayton and Ant and saying we have less talent since we got rid of those two? And we’re going to miss Ant’s 3 point shooting a lot? None of those have looked to be true so far, but it’s still early to be fair.

We basically have the same team as last year plus Jrue..
Ditching Ayton has been a HUGE benefit. No way we play anything close to this defense with him here.

I don't think people realize how destructive Ayton play was to the team. They just look at his PPG and RPG then assume he's contributing.

You think Ayton would have been happy here being a 3rd string center we can sometimes throw out as a backup?

Good riddance! There is no way Ayton being on this roster would help. We were MUCH better last year the games he didn't play. He's fools gold and for some bizarre reason your still trying to buy even when the results have overwhelming proven how worthless he is.

It’s kind of a shock to go from the worst defensive team for like a decade to bar none the best.

You win games that you shouldn’t.
That's the great thing about defense. It's not inconsistent.

You never have an off-defense night or play bad defense because you aren't used to the lighting or the background in the arena.
