Your logic still seems greatly flawed. Encouraging someone to work on a specific skill-set does not automatically mean you are telling them to not use any of their other developed skill-sets. It simply might mean they can really score the ball, and want to get them to a more adaquate level on defense and creating for others.

Go look at quotes from NBA coaches in the past couple decades. When they say, "focus on rebounds, defense and hustle" they are saying, don't worry about the offensive end of the floor and worry about these aspects of the game.

Bringing Thomas Robinson into this as proof the coaching staff didn't know how to use him is an odd strategy. The guy played for 6 teams in 5 years and then was out of the league. So all 6 coaching staffs didn't know use him properly or he was unwilling to develop a well rounded game?

When did I say any coaching staff didn't know how to use him properly? I'm saying the same things they told Skal in training camp is what they told Thomas Robinson. Except that Skal is much more talented than Thomas Robinson. Whether Thomas was good or not isn't the point of the discussion. It's what the coaching staff told him to do that they are now telling Skal. Skal is more talented. That's why it doesn't fit.

How do you get "The coach discouraged Him from shooting in training camp" FROM "the Staff wants him to hustle, rebound and play defense" ?

Some of the stuff you read on here is comical.

I've been around of basketball. When the coach emphasizes a single player to "rebound, play defense and hustle" it means don't look for your offense and do these things to make you and the team successful. You can bet Stotts isn't saying that to CJ or Dame. And if he is, he isn't very successful at getting them to do so.

Even comedy can teach something. You're welcome.

Well, two things about that season:

1) Nurk got hurt and in the playoffs Vonleh and Leonard were like our only healthy bigs. Much like this current team if healthy they would've been a team no one wanted to play in the playoffs. In fact the one game Nurk played in that series on one leg showed how much different they'd be if he was playing.

2) Unlike that season, there isn't a team outside of maybe the Clippers that the Blazers couldn't beat in the playoffs. So if the Blazers are playing great with a somewhat healthy roster there's no reason to believe they can't go on a run.

I'd add the Lakers to the Clippers. There is NO WAY the league is allowing the large market Lakers with LeBron and AD (if healthy) to lost to Portland. Just wait for how the whistles would go in that series if it happened. I'd be putting a large wager on that one.

I like how I get called out for “conjecture” when saying that Dame has significant influence in our roster transaction decisions, but “tHe LeAgUe iS rIGged” is considered a respectable opinion here.

It's a business. They're in it to make money. Hell yeah it's rigged, to a degree.

Don't believe me? Ask Tim Donaghy his opinion.

I don't buy those conspiracy theories at all.
