Terry benched Melo. One of the key coaching decisions in the game.

I'll beat someone else to the punch:

He should've done that a long time ago, he should be playing less than 17 minutes, therefore no credit shall be given.

Dame with a +/- of ZERO!
What a fucking bum! He doesn't care! He's old!
Something must be going on behind the scenes!

Man, I bet there are about 6 or 7 of you that are just PISSED right now huh? HA! #RipCity #BlazerFan

I'm glad we got Kanter back, even though he Kanter do a lot of things Nurk does, he was part of the team that made it all the way to the Conference Finals.
He Kanter pass better than Nurk and he Kaneter defend quite as well but he can finish more definitively around the hole and rebound better than Nurk.

I'm fine if they keep Stotts, as long as they actually hire someone to coach the defense. And actually coaches defense.
It isn't Stotts necessarily. Olshey is the one that needs fired. Then the new GM can talk to Stotts about making adjustments having, motion on offense, a defensive lead assistant and whatever they want to and that GM can make this roster make sense around Dame's genius.

Well he has the two playoff ones, the one tonight, and one against Ryan Anderson and the one against Kyrie. Maybe there was time on the clock after the Kyrie one, I don't know? Oh, he hit one against OKC in regular season too, it was replica of Houston playoff one.
ESPN.com says just 3 buzzer beater shots, not 3s. And that's false. He had a game winning 2 against Detroit too. I think he had game winning layups against Phoenix and New York maybe too?

"According to the Elias Sports Bureau data, this is the first time a jump ball and a game-winning buzzer-beater occurred on the same possession inside the final 10 seconds since April 30, 2006. On that date, the Los Angeles Lakers won a jump ball against the Suns, and Kobe Bryant hit the game-winning buzzer-beater."

Dame has had a few game winning 3s at what we thought at the time was the buzzer...... in all those situations, the refs put a few 10ths of a second back on the clock.

Didn’t he have one against New Orleans (Hornets)? His first one I think

He's had about a million shots with time put back on the clock. Against CLE, NOH, DET, DEN, LAL, PHX, etc etc

ok great...he was good with the decision

I still think it was a dumb decision to not advance the ball for the inbound. More options for inbound passes; Portland was out of timeouts, so a jump ball or steal happens at the other end of the floor from the Blazer basket and Portland very likely runs out of time
Not saying you are wrong at all. He didn't either. Just saying he did address that.

IF the Blazers had a timeout, this logic is acceptable, though not great.

The problem is, we did not. That means if the Bulls called a timeout, basically only a steal and a shot was going to beat them. A jump ball ends up at half court or the opposite free throw line, and there isn't time to get a quality shot up. The number of unprobable things that has to happen when the ball is on the other end of the court goes at least doubles.
Again not saying anyone is wrong here. Just that he addressed it.

Enes showed against lavine nearly every time actually

Ok can I say for 10 years prior to last night then? It's ridiculous that CJ being a great scorer himself knows how easy it is to score against such a defensive scheme. A scheme we are running against Curry for example for years.

I agree with you. But just saying... Enes showed and it worked sorta. The help on the weakside was trash though and rotations were slow enabling Thad Young to kill us.

the most revealing thing about that video clip is to look at the graphic and see that the Bulls had a timeout left. They didn't use it. I'm not a Stotts fan at all, but that's a reminder that there are worse coaches
He did have enough self-confidence though to admit he made a mistake. I like that.

I know our record is whatever without him (although I’d argue it’s more cuz of nurk) but what exactly are we missing without CJ?

it depends on which CJ you're going to get: the CJ from the first 12 games of this season, or the CJ from the first 533 games of his career. I'd bet on the latter

one thing I noticed from this season before CJ was hurt. He was having a career season, and because of that, Dame was deferring a lot; Dame wasn't as aggressive. IMO, the best Dame is the aggressive Dame, and the best version of the Blazers is the one with the best version of Dame. When CJ is the #1 option, it's great for CJ. When Dame is the #1 option, it's great for the Blazers

Before anyone says we don’t deserve this win, if you can make a step back fadeaway 3 over a 7 footer at the buzzer, you damn well deserve the win

Well, Dame deserves the win. Stotts doesn't.

Dame saving his ass again

Stotts told them to go for a steal instead of foul and they got a jump ball..without that call Gary doesn't get the jump ball....it's a team win. the team has the coache's back...that's good enough for me,,,,we have a winning record with 4 starters out....after that game I'd say some credit is due

Appears Bulls fans are certain LaVine got fouled by Trent & Hood and this will come out in tomorrows 2 minute report.

Bulls fans are WRONG. In the Last 2 Minute report, the league has ruled that it was clean.
