Harden coming in to make an impression. He will play very well but the Blazers will win on a buzzer beater. That way Harden doesn't hurt the team he will be traded to but will still show his worth.

Entertainment at it's finest!

Yesterday alone the Celtics, Nuggets, and Mavs got blown out. Not sure there are really any conclusions you can draw this early. Seems there’s still a lot of rust around the league and it’ll take some time before things stabilize. I’d probably wait until 20 games in before thinking about what’s wrong, or what needs to change.

No but that seat will start getting hot.

Yea that’s fair. But geez another convincing loss would be brutal. Let’s see how Dame plays today he’s been bad for a stretch now and especially Nurkic he has been terrible

Um... I think for the good of our team Harden plays aloof and turns in a dud... thus lowering his trade value by further forcing Houston to make a trade sooner than later. Harden has already done more than enough to prove his worth, we'd like that worth to go down about now. If we're really even in the running to get him.

Must win match tonight. I have to turn on alarm to wake me up at 4 am, Bosnian match time, but i want to witness first victory in new season.

Go Blazers!
No must wins this early in the season but I think the team will show a lot more urgency than against Utah and hopefully have a little better chemistry. That's a lot of dedication... 4 am! You're a great fan.

Well i said must win, its more beacuse the actuall mood around of Blazers, those defeats in preseason, than again in first match of the season, im afraid for self confidence and chemistry of the team, and you have totaly incomplete Rockets team tonight, thats why i think its must win - if they lose against this weaker team, it will impact negative for belief in them by the fans, media and maybe themselves, even its very early stage...

I want them to win. I want strong defense, Dame /Nurk chemistry and pick and roll actions etc..

No problem to open the eyes at 4 am, just win it :)

I would actually enjoy 4 am games.
It's when i get up anyway. I have dogs that seem to think i need to be up by then.
I would have a problem with bad losses though. Might ruin my day.

Well, since Nurk came, i watched most of the Blazers games and most of them were at 4 am my local time..I've spent a lot of nights or better to say mornings with Blazers...And trust me, most times I went to work straight after the end of the game (between 7 and 8 am).

But it was my pleasure. I love Blazers now and even if Nurk lets say leave, i would continue to follow Blazers. Dame is my favorite player (apart from Nurk).

Those three teams did get blown out....by elite level teams. We got blown out by a 2nd tier team. Those winning teams don't seem to be suffering from rust despite little practice, personnel changes, and in some case, completely new coaching staffs.

Why do we have to wait 20 games to show the ability to hustle and execute even the most basic of basketball concepts? That just seems like a very low bar.

I agree that it's really important and a loss could really impact a lot more games than just this one.

Outside of the fact that we should be highly motivated to win if we don't expose them inside the paint with Nurk or drive to the paint repeatedly to try to get them in foul trouble with only 9 players then there is a huge problem.

What would Dame do if

Dame will be so mad if we fire Stotts, will ask for a trade like Harden.
I just don't think so.
Coaching tenures around the league last 2-3 years. Stotts has been here an eternity by league standards. Even he knows that. All things come to an end at some point. Now if they make a good run this year there will be no question about Stotts being here. If not even Damian Lillard must admit he had his chances.

Again the odds of a coach finally getting a championship after many years of chances are extremely low. While I don't hate Stotts with each passing year the odds only get lower of a "breakthrough"

Many years of chances? How can that even be a stat or put to odds? Every year is different. This year even more so than any other.
Stotts has had his chances. The two best ones were decimated by injuries so far. That and super teams not to mention a guy named Lebron James. He has one this year in my opinion. If it doesn't take it will be tough to keep him. If he makes a good run it will be tough to fire him.

like that little backdoor i gave myself? Lol

Having trouble picturing that but we'll take your word for it. A belated Christmas present to yourself? Never mind too much information already.

I'm not saying he can't do it and I hope he does but in my opinion there will always be factors and you either get it done or you don't. The Mavericks did one so why can't we? They dealt with a lot of those factors. I just feel like he hasn't got it done so far then how are the chances getting better? At some point it starts feel like are enabling very low odds. I tend to see things from a logical standpoint it seems like it is making less and less sense.
